On what basis does that make it invalid Crushy?

WTF is a half casp?

PS If you did in fact mean 'half caste' then it is preferable that in your dialect that you use the terms'full descent' and 'mixed descent' as terms such as 'full blood', 'half caste', 'quadroon' and 'octoroon' are considered offensive by some.

PPS Not only is your spelling poor but your understanding that only 'half casps' were stolen is incorrect. Perhaps read up and educate yourself on the matter before making further comment unless you want to appear completely ignorant. A link was provided earlier in the topic.

my point isnt that it was right, my point was comparing it to a jap invasion wasnt accurate

wedgie i understand your a bit worked up over the issue, but i dont have time for spell checks etc. i make enough typos everyday not to care. i have read reports that said only aboriginals that werent of "mixed descent" were taken, so until i hear it from the horses mouth ill put it down that none of us are correct wedgie. as far as my terminology being offensive, i found some of your remarks offensive, does that mean you should retract them?

im only repeating what i have read and seen, from reputable sources. perhaps you blokes instead of sitting inhere whinging about how bad and ill informed everyone is should get out on the field and do something aboiut the situation.
my only point which alot of you people seem unable to grasp is that onvce the warm and fuzzy feeling from the word sorry has worn off theiir problems remain. you can all wear funny little hats, hold hands and talk about how good it is to say sorry all you liek but the fact remains the people who need help, financial, emotional and physical havent got it, arent getting it and still appear to not be getting it.

You're spelling's out again, disreputable has a dis in front of reputable.
Mate, feel free to actually go back through the topic and see where I provided a link to a factual report made on the matter over 10 years ago, it'd be a good read for you as it'll educate you quite a bit from your current ignorant status gained from disreputable sources.
Spending time with my father who was one of the stolen generation (and wasn't a half casp as you so ignorantly call it) I think I do do my little bit for the situation.

How does what white settlers did to the Aborignals differ from the scenario I posted?

During the second World War the Japanese push on Australia was a great success, thanks to a sudden change of mind by the USA when, bowing to public pressure, they withdrew all of their troops from the Pacific. The raids on Darwin were merely the first step in an invasion by the Japanese that saw them sweep down Australia and successfully take Canberra and all of the capital cities. Immediately the Japanese instituted many changes to what had been considered Australian society, no English spoken, daily homages to the Emperor, no shoes were allowed inside - that kind of thing. In addition to this the Japanese started an ambitious program of breeding out White Anglo Saxon characteristics from the population by instituting breeding controls, re-education centres and taking away what babies are born to white parents. Fifty years on the white Anglo Saxon male in Australia is a sorry sight, those that remain are dispossessed of their country and treated like dirt by the Japanese wherever they go.

In this scenario would I have an issue with the Japanese? You bet.

topsy that's got to be one of the best posts on the site IMO =D>

I think this thread and the general public reaction is evidence of how confronting this apology really is for a lot of non-aboriginal Australians and shows just how much work is still to be done.

Like any apology its simply a gesture to recognise that something wrong has been done and express regret for it. Just because it won't fix all the problems overnight doesn't mean we shouldn't do it.
In between signatures .....
