SOME OF THEM DO!
I've posted examples of the recent furore in medical research about the manipulation of data in the pursuit of grants.
Several papers published in what are, theoretically, major, adequately peer reviewed, medical journals have since been retracted by the journals.

You can't tell me it only happens in medical research.

Modelling which doesn't take into account the thousands of jobs created by the billions of dollars to go into renewable energy.

st, if you'd been following this, you should have known that.

As I've said before, I suspect most of those jobs will be in brokering and buying carbon credits whereby we pay people overseas to plant trees to offset the emissions we don't actually reduce very much. ;)
Remember Mike Young's figures for Denmark versus France, I've posted elsewhere..
Denmark, which took the route we propose, 650 gm CO2 per KWh, France 90 gm per KWh.

Or are you just going on what gillard/combet/swan/garnaut have been telling you?

Oh, if you want something to back it up, how about this from a Liberal Government :D

http://www.smh.com.au/opinion/politics/ ... z1VWLRxmVS

This is the bit I really like :D

But the press statement issued by O’Farrell and Baird when they released the modelling and Treasury’s assessment does more to scare than inform.

Even though the Premier and the Treasurer live in Sydney, work here and represent electorates here, they didn’t feel the need to mention what the modelling showed about the country’s biggest city – 6400 jobs more jobs by 2020, 17,600 more by 2030 and higher output than under the “business as usual” scenario without a carbon tax.

Instead, their statement emphasises most negative regional outcomes – in the Hunter and Illawarra – and ignored favourable affects in other parts of the state. The statement even threw in a scary-sounding but unrepresentative example of how household power bills will rise under the carbon tax.

Leading economist, John Quiggin, who was this year honoured with the Distinguished Fellow Award by the Economics Society of Australia, described the statement as “dishonest and way over the top.”

Clearly there is a market for Solar Panels, yet there are plenty of them being made in China at present, so start up costs for companies to compete with that are going to be difficult - not impossible but if people think that job creation is just going to fall in their lap they are mistaken.

One interesting fact is that behind China, Germany are the second largest growing economy in local manufacturing through innovation, we can do it here if we are prepared to put in the investment and here is the rub, the German Government does indeed invest super funds and so on into growing their local manufacturing industry whilst we seem to always look for private investment which is going backwards, hence a more socialist approach clearly is going to be the way out of it.

Here is a suggestion, it was stated that to order a new Tram the delivery time is two years from the only two manufacturers in Europe. I think we have plenty of capacity in South Australia for the third plant to be in Tonsley SA. BHP Steel Chassis and Frames, local engineering - Custom Coaches at Regency Park seem to be doing a pretty good job of making Trans Adelaide Buses, it cant be a huge jump to a tram. What we would need to do would be to invest the funds into the Tonsley site and convert the Tonsley line to a tram way. Get several components made by suppliers in Victoria and it gives the Vic government a reason to buy their trams locally. Core group of orders then competition on the international level I feel would be quite a success for SA.
