Disagree. Corporate influence on State policy is a problem and definitely an issue that requires awareness.

Also disagree with the the stereotyping of participants. I doubt they are all either unemployed or students like the MSM would have us believe in an attempt to trivialise the philosophy.

All that being said, I find current methods of protest absolutely redundant.

Who funds major political parties election campaigns?

I didn't say I disagree with what the occupy movement is hoping to achieve, I just can't believe any person of sound intellect would consider it possible to achieve.

Exactly why there has been a call for greater transparency and accountability, particularly in Australia.

Didn't pick you for being self-defeating, although you do support Port Power ;)

I would think a person not of sound intellect is the one who does not believe that change is possible. Change is always possible, in every facet of life, globally and individually. Reminds me of a quote by Margaret Mead:

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."

I saw that. i noticed in the paper the council made a decision earlier in the week to allow the protest, but not the camping. i assume yesterday afternoon the protesters were ordered to remove their tents, and that in addition to the rain meant most (all but the one guy) went home for the night. all but one of the banners seem to be gone as well. maybe there will be more return on the weekend when the weather fines up again?

Well it is a nice day, Foo Fighters are in town and Uni has finished for the year (?).

I noticed the mega-rich are still mega-rich and the ultra-powerful are still ultra-powerful.

Any idea when these people have actual change planned?

Good question, still unanswered.

I'm always amazed at the number of people who aren't mega-rich, who not only oppose those who want some fairness, but who are vehemently opposed to them :?

It's the Australian way. Kiss the feet of the rich, get bent over, then shout down anyone who complains.
