Just in China, some interesting sounds about the TPP, the one and only TPP that Trump ditched 3 days into his term. Well China have made some noises about getting in on it.

Strange really considering the TPP was started to reduce the Chinese influence in that economic sector.

Just starting to see China err back to the economic battlefield more so now. I wonder if they are making a shift back to a more normal and less aggressive tactics now?

On the radio the other day they were saying both China and Taiwan want in on the TPP. China apparently wants in before Taiwan as admittance depends on ALL members agreeing to new member nations. China would never agree to Taiwan being admitted as they believe it is a rogue Chinese province and the loss of face would be catastrophic in their eyes.

Tend to agree with you that the deal was shit. Also the "progress" the French made was non existent up to this point.

There had been talks of delays and issues for months and months now. Even if it was just a convenient way for ScMo to kill it the writing was on the wall a while back.

Recall this wasn't Turnball but Abbott and Pyne.

It cam from a Defence White Paper that was committed to by Kevin Rudd in 2007 and released in 2009.

Abbott announced the tendering process between the French, Japanese and Germans (we are a forgiving country) in 2015

Turnbull announced the French in 2016

You know what they say about not voting for them as it only encourages them.

Like most people I will welcome Craig Kelly as our next PM.
