She seemed quite amused about it
She potted Penny Wong last night - said other people will try to use it for their own purposes/gain but she didn't have a problem with it straight after Wong spewed out her usual vinegar

It will end up being more factional bullshit in the end if he does contest and is successful. Another unstable government. Seems to be the norm these days.

If making Prince Phillip a knight is Abbott's idea of serving his country, then we may be better off without him.

He sure does. Pity he's spent that last four months since his departure sulking and hiding. I'm sure his constituents have been happy with his local efforts.

He's also a born and bred pugilist who doesn't know when to stop fighting. It may be a good thing in some sports, but it's a bad thing in politics. Pity the crowd, by and large, aren't barracking for him and what he stands for.

I note he's off to the US to speak at an event of religious right Christian brethren, proselytising about all the bad things in society like gays marrying each other and women having driver's licenses, or something similarly out of the 19th century, like he did at the Thatcher speech late last year in London. If only Abbott knew how to convince people of his views, like Turnbull, instead of expecting people to simply adopt them uncritically because he said so, he might have a chance of winning back the prime ministership. The thing is, even if he had the ability to sell his philosophies, no-one is buying what he's selling. Only a bunch of rusted on Christian conservatives, monarchists and disaffected Aussie right-wing 'patriots' would accept his views as gospel, and that's not the majority of Australian voters.

Fair point, but it did show how out of touch he was.

All up, he was shown to be a very effective Oppositiom Leader, but not suited as PM.

Just thought I would give this a bump now with everything and nothing happening at the minute. It seems hard to work out if Australia is better or worse with the change of PM. Say what you will about Tony, and yes its an open invitation if you want, but he did something. Not all the greatest of moves but Malcolm Turnball although a better speaker and lets say front man, hasnt really done anything.

Turnbull seems to be somewhat hamstrung by the right faction of his party. Cant do anything for fear of another revolt.

And yes, i would argue that tony did bugger all except repeal labor initiatives - if he was actually doing something they wouldnt have had to get rid of him in the first place.

Turnbull needs time to work out how to deal with the right faction of the Libs, which is hamstringing him. Less than six months in, and with an election around the corner, he's probably not going to do too much doing, and will do a lot more talking (not hard for Turnbull mind you).

Unfortunately I would also agree with that. More talk talk. But the right faction is interesting. They dont forget.

So back to the issue at hand. How does Turnball get a handle on this right faction?

As it has been said an election is around the corner and hes not making the ground they would have wanted with a leadership change.
