This China thing is interesting. Both sides are flirting with China and that's been proven over and over again.
However, it seems that the Libs are more keen to make something of the ALP's connections than vice-versa.
The Chinese seem confused and perhaps angered about our position on their nation, including our contradictory stand on trade at arm's length.
My comments about the Libs' stance on China above are reflected in this piece about Australia's recently released foreign policy position.
http://www.afr.com/news/world/china-tel ... 123-gzrpbuI read an even more scathing review of the white paper from China's state-controlled media - which would, obviously, reflect where China's leaders see us. Sadly, I can't find it now. It made interesting reading.
Australia has always had a vexed relationship with China and its peoples. It's interesting to watch, particularly now as we rely on their trade now more than ever.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.
