More horrifying is that her parents saw fit to give her the name Kristina Kerscher Keneally, KKK!

Pretty sure Keneally is her married name... not given to her by her parents

 My mistake, I knew she was married but thought I had read she had kept her maiden name or something, obviously not.

Here are the top 10 most-publicised barbs aimed at Ms Gillard who was sworn in as Australia’s first female Prime Minister on June 24, 2010.

http://thehoopla.com.au/top-10-insults-aimed-julia-gillard/

1. “On what should have been one of the proudest days of Gillard’s political career, she bungled it with a less than flattering haircut and a frumpy ’80s tapestry print jacket… Get yourself a stylist your own age.” Anita Quigley. Daily Telegraph. December 2006

2. “I mean anyone who chooses to remain deliberately barren… they’ve got no idea what life’s about.” Senator Bill Heffernan. The Bulletin. May 2007

3. “You won’t need his (PM Kevin Rudd) taxpayer-funded nanny, will you?” Sophie Mirabella. Parliament. May 2008

4. “She has chosen not to be a parent… she is very much a one-dimensional person… she just doesn’t understand the way parents think about their children when they reach a particular age.” Senator George Brandis. ABC Radio. January 2010

5. “She has showcased a bare home and an empty kitchen as badges of honour and commitment to her career. She has never had to make room for the frustrating demands and magnificent responsibilities of caring for little babies, picking up sick children from school, raising teenagers. Not to mention the needs of a husband or partner.” Janet Albrechtsen. The Australian. July 2010

6. “She looks like a real weakling.” Mark Latham. Sky News. August 2010

(Latham also accused the PM of being inappropriate when she touched his chest in an interview: “The physicality of it was all on her side. I’m a happily married man and this sort of stuff I found a little bit out of the ordinary.”)

7. “Juliar Bob Brown’s Bitch” “Burn the Witch”. Placards at anti-carbon tax Rally. March 2011

8. ”Put her ( Clover Moore, Lord Mayor of Sydney) in the same chaff bag as Julia Gillard and throw them both out to sea.” *Alan Jones 2GB radio. July 2011

9. “You’ve got a big arse, Julia, just get on with it.” Germaine Greer. ABC. Q&A. March 2012

10. “(Australians)… ought to be out there kicking her to death.” Grahame Morris (former John Howard staffer turned lobbyist) Sky News. April 2012

P.S: Kate Ellis MP alleges Kevin Rudd denounced the prime minister as a ”childless, atheist, ex-communist”. He denies it but Ellis is adamant Rudd spoke those words. March 2012

* In the interests of balance: Bob Brown gets put in the same chaff bag a month later.

What makes me laugh is that women are continually banging on about being judged by the job they do not what they wear, how they look etc, etc, yet female journalists are the ones getting stuck into the P.M. about these issues

looks like another leadership battle against Gillard will happen in the next few weeks given she has just allowed Gina Rhinehart to fly in overseas workers and no-one was consulted.

Gillard to be gone by the end of july i reckon

Gillard should go!
I've stuck up for the PM up to now, but enough is enough, I'm joining those who think she should resign.

I support her on the NBN, on Climate Change action, on almost every policy and think she just gets criticised no matter what she does, while Mr Abbott talks crap and gets away with little or no scrutiny.

But now she's done her dash with me!

She didn't ....ing curtsy to the Queen of England

The lowest point in her life according to June Dally-Watkins in the lead story on the ABC website, titled "Off with her head", FFS.

I'm with you, June, it's a disgrace. She's got to go.

Who would want to lead this rabble to oblivion? There are no viable short term options.

Anyone who wants a future (eg Shorten) will wait for the train wreck at the election to occur, Gillard will leave politics, and new fresh leader with a new leadership team will pick up the pieces.

It is a row over very little too.
I knocked around with a lot of Ukes and Russians at Uni and the differences in the two languages are minimal - they more like dialects of one language.

The Russians descended from the anti-communists who escaped pre-WW2 were more or less accepted as honorary Ukes and went to the same functions.
(The Orthodox vs Catholic divide was more significant.)

Ah I see - I was focussed on the issues rather than the fighting.
Perhaps the ALP and Lib champions could meet in the arena at say Docklands with swords.
Who would be on each team as Champion and Second nominees ?

I actually admire Jason Clare enormously. I think he is a rare bright spark in the Labor Party and he has no irritating arrogance or union-style coarsness to piss people off. His waterfront reform press conference was very impressive IMO. Kate Ellis might be a bit of a drop kick but she's good to look at and would make a refreshing deputy leader to give the socialists a whole new image that would appeal to a large chunk of the electorate. Get rid of Gillard, Albanese, Swan, Midnight Oil, Macklin and start fresh
