For someone who rails against posters who label you and don't just stick to facts, the term people in glasshouses comes to mind :?

If you feel personally attacked by any criticism of the Labor Party and its policies just tell me and I'll be more gentle in future.
Otherwise I think political parties are fair game, as its not personal like abusing, or labelling with abusive terminology, an individual... ;)

Psyber, I don't, of course. I just contrast your lectures to others about sticking to facts, with your propensity to often use simplistic, generic put-down labels when it suits you.

However, I take your point. I won't call you a flat-earther as others have done, I'll just put you in the flat-earther's camp ;)

Today's Poll 3392 votes since Feb 7 2010
Do you support Kevin Rudd's ETS proposal?
Yes 20% 684 votes
No 80% 2708 votes

Edit: emboldened as it appears to have been not seen... 8)

Agreed with regard to on-line polls, but would you care to comment on the Nielsen poll in the link I posted above? I'll make a prediction the Rudd ETS in its current form will be dropped or substantially modified before the next federal election.

No..
I knocked around with a lot of Ukrainian immigrants in my University days, and there were only a few politically acceptable Russians in the mix.
The only Russian and Ukrainian I picked up, apart from the standard politenesses, were words of abuse for Russians which I didn't actually use as I wasn't taking sides...
I've forgotten nearly all of it now, but I do remember a few Russian girls - two Ludmillas, and a Rima, in particular.

If it were the ALP you would be right. Turnbull should be in the ALP, he's rich enough to afford to be a socialist.

I did preface it by commenting on its small sample size, but I didn't think that excluded its being considered, given the level of the differential in the voting even at that early stage.
I have edited it to make it more clear to the reading challenged - I wouldn't want to mislead.. ;)

That misses the point, mate.

3392 is not a small sample, it's very large for a poll.

It's not valid because of the sampling method. ie: there is none except as a vehicle for people pushing an agenda.

To confirm that, a result of a political poll that is 80/20 has no integrity at all and I'm surprided you weren't aware of that.

Therefore your edit adds nothing.

I swear I hadn't voted 2708 times..

But I saw the total number, while not small for that kind of poll I agree, as very small as a sample of the overall population - hence my reservation as stated.
However, I also thought it was unusual for a poll of this type to be so far from evenly divided once it had been up for a while and there had been more than a few hundred votes, as usually one side pushes the agenda first and then the opposing crowd notice and even it up.

I think all polls are basically push-polls, so much depends on how they are phrased.
My edit, of course, was a comment on your repeatedly displayed pattern of selective reading and emphasis as a method of diversion of focus. 8)
