It's a misleading graph.

The Pacific Solution had the navy re-directing boats to islands that were excised from the mainland (obviously some slipped through), so statistically speaking fewer boats were recorded as reaching the mainland (methodology has since changed).

The detention centres were still full and thousands of TPVs were still issued.

Now overlay that graph with the stats for people who have travelled to Australia by plane but have overstayed their visas.

Hint, make sure your screen is in portrait mode when you read the graph.

Overlay it with plane-arrival asylum seekers for bonus laughs.

Abbott has plenty of "policy's" he's already announced. Carbon tax, NBN, illegal boats are some of the major things he's already made announcements regarding. Coupled with getting the economy back to a healthy bottom line I don't need to see much else but there is a lot more out there if you'll look.

Do you know how many illegal boats have arrived in Australia this year? Zero

Now that the Lord, our Rudd, has risen, will he gather his disciples and stride across the troubled waters to the light on the hill?

I think not - he is just a very naughty boy. ;)

I don't believe labor will win but with ruddy at the helm I think they will hold onto a few QLD seats at least now.

The coalition are very strong favourites still, but I would think the ALP have just a tiny, tiny chance of victory.

May perhaps depend on how things go in the month or so before election day, in particular whether there's any major stuff-ups by Abbott.

Unfortunately the power brokers of the Libs have got abbott well under contol. I can tsee the libs making any huge stuff ups before the election but .... afterwards will be a very different story ;)

Abbott has been stage managed and controlled very well by Credlin but I suspect Rudd will smoke the real Abbott out.

If Abbott's got any sense he won't agree to any debates with Rudd.

No one watches debates anymore so i doubt this would be an issue. Best case scenario for the ALP is to lose this election, wait for Abbott to stuff up as will almost cetainly happen and then win the next election. If Ruddy does win this time, it will be for one term only and the damage caused would be catostrophic in another close parliament.

Not a election post but qld pollies are apparently entitled to a $57,000 pay rise. Anna Bligh put a freeze on their wages when she was in power and by law they are èntitled to it.

What ******* planet are these people on??? That's my full years wage there. It's ******* bullshit !!
