A letter to the workers, which is not endorsed by the Australian Manufacturing Workers' Union, claims those who don't tow the line in action for a pay rise will be classed as a "F---ing scab'', reported the Herald Sun.

"You are the lowest of the low," it says.

"We know who you are we know what car you drive. We know where you live payback is a b--ch 3 fold (sic).

"Scabs do not go against the majority."

A caller to 3AW Radio revealed the contents of the letter this morning.

He ran it so well he couldn't even win his own seat in the end. He joins a pretty exclusive club of PMs who were given the thumbs down by his own electorate.

Queensland Liberal National Party (LNP) leader Campbell Newman has dodged questions about a newspaper column written by one of his candidates, which claims drunk women who are raped are partly to blame for the assault.

The LNP's newly preselected candidate for the electorate of Cairns, former Cairns Post editor-at-large Gavin King, has come under fire for the 2008 column since he announced his candidacy last month.

One could argue, reasonably, that allowing oneself to get very drunk in public in places where you know there probably are predators, sexual or other, is contributory negligence.
That does not, however, make the rape (or simply mugging) a justifiable action.

Sure, in an ideal world, one should be able to exercise such freedom knowing there are no predators, but in the real world you would need you own full time security guard.
(And have had that guard well screened if not neutered...)

Can't seem to find Crikeys & the ilks outrage that if you want to bang underage boys as a teacher & not do time or have your sentence appealed just make sure that you marry an ''artist'' & make sure one of your kids is in the Labour Party.

Chloe Fox. I didn't follow it too closely but I don't think the guy was underage exactly but that it was an alleged abuse of her father's position as the guy's teacher.

As appalling as her father is I don't see how that has anything to do with the ALP.

I'm gobsmacked at that comment Gozu

By the way, the victim was 17 at the time - he should be in irons for 10 years

Actually you are correct - nothing to do with the ALP

Plenty to do with a State Govt that bangs on about being hard on crime and is quite happy to pressure the DPP office to appeal when it suits them (and make sure they tell the media they're doing so)

That is what they're copping criticism over AND rightfully so

QUEENSLAND'S Liberal National Party is under pressure from its MPs to sack officials involved in commissioning a dirt file on their Labor rivals.

LNP leader Campbell Newman this morning apologised over the telephone-book thick dossier, paid for by LNP headquarters, that included revelations about the personal and sex lives of ministers and MPs.

“We are all very disappointed and indeed very angry about it,” Mr Newman told ABC radio.

LNP President Bruce McIver told The Australian Online that he had reprimanded two officials - state director Michael O'Dwyer and campaign director James McGrath - for commissioning and paying former Labor staffer and 2010 federal candidate Robert Hough for the dirt file.

"Liberal website still publishing foul abuse":

THE nastiness pervading federal politics was laid bare yesterday when the Liberal Party’s official website ran comments about Julia Gillard saying ”shoot the f—ing bitch” and ”madam hitler and her lies”. The comments were posted underneath a new commercial the Liberals put on their website featuring Ms Gillard’s promise to not introduce a carbon tax. They remained on the website for 30 minutes until the Greens leader, Bob Brown, pointed them out to the Liberal Senate Leader, Eric Abetz.

Hasn't Bob Brown got more important things to do as PM rather than surfing the Libs website? ;)

The Cory Bernardi (far-right Liberal Party senator) founded 'Menzies House' in hot water for letting this comment through on their site:

“When that happens these Green bastards should be lined up and shot as traitors!”
