Gillard should go!

Labor, Liberal, Greens, Democrats? Here's the place to discuss.

Meh, let Abbott implode

Maybe the ALP are worried Turnbull will be given the reigns!

You'd think they'd give Newman, Balleau and O'Farrell more time to get more swinging votes back to Labor ;)

The media have certainly flogged this horse for all it's worth. The opposition haven't even needed to do anything to push this one along. I reckon there's Buckley's chance of proving anything against her. They couldn't 17 years ago and I don't see how they will now. It looks very unlikely she actually did anything wrong and I think it's hard to hold against her the acts of her partners in the past.

I just wish she wouldn't use the sexist card like it's a shield for any woman to use against criticism. From here to the end of her leadership any criticism will be met with that word and it's disgusting. Disgusting to those affected by prejudice and those she accuses who aren't. The unfair accusation should be as abhorrent as the act.

It's hard to think though that if she were a man the media would be going as hard as this over something relatively trivial.

You are presumably joking. The issue isn't trivial, it's fraud at the highest levels of union organisation. If you're ever in doubt as to the relevance of the unions in Australian politics, have a look at the backgrounds of the Labor MPs. In fact, several members of the Labor party had some involvement in this very event. Not sure Craig Thompson would agree that the gender matters. He wasn't even the PM and the media went berserk.

I watched her media interview today - very convincing

Just one question, and I ask this in all sincerity and not knowing the answer:

Was she acting for the union whilst taking instructions from her boyfriend of the time?

Interesting that she said one of the reasons Ralph Blewitt couldn't be trusted is because he used prostitutes.
Is that some cause for being a liar?
She has a real "thing" for sexism - loves to chuck it around as a defence

So, has she also been able to dig some dirt up on Nick Styant-Browne?
PRIME Minister Julia Gillard knew about a $150,000 Slater and Gordon mortgage for a property used by union fraudster Bruce Wilson more than two years before the date she admitted to knowing about it in an interview with the firm's management, a former senior partner claims.

I dare say the PM knows a bit more than you about what is and isn't sexism. Where do blokes like you and Bolt get off trying to tell women what is and isn't sexism?

On the matter at hand, Gillard's involvement in this supposed incident appears pretty trivial.

Lol. Because I'm a bloke I don't know what sexism is? You realise that's sexist right? And no doubt she knows what sexism is. You think no politician uses a word or phrase incorrectly on purpose? Whatever gets traction with the voters. Obviously it's working with you.

Where does a bloke like you get off telling me what I do and don't know?

But thanks for the humour. Always good to have a chuckle at one some people seem to believe.

Is the issue about Julia Gillard or corruption in the Union Movement? I suspect its the latter and that is the reason why its being pushed so heavilly in the media as it should be. Those that took part in the rip off of workers of Craig Thomsons former union have openly stolen funding from some of the lowest paid workers in this country and treated them like absolute $hit in the process. Union and Branch Membership in the ALP are plummenting because of it and something needs to be done about it, not simply trying to sweep it under the carpet and to ignore the reccomendations of the ALP committee to stabilise and to increase branch membership.

Its not just the Liberals that are attacking the ALP, the Greens are doing a very good job of it also, they might not be getting the same publicity as the Liberals, but they wont be stopping at just the one seat at the next election as more and more people grow disallusioned with the ALP.

Greens trying to get in on the act as well

Australian Greens leader Christine Milne says sexism is behind accusations about Prime Minister Julia Gillard's past work as a lawyer.

I remember a mens tennis match when an Egyptian (or something) player got over-ruled by the chair.
He told them umpire he was a racist and against him because he is a muslim.
The umpire replied "How can that be - so am I!"
Then the other player yelled out "and so am I!"
Then it's because I'm Egyptian, isn't it!!!

Well the opposition is trying to but she is a protected species. Just won't answer questions in the house and the speaker turns a blind eye. Also, Abbott can't go on the attack because she will once again wail like a banshee and play the misogyny card which the pathetic left wing media will pounce on and go nuts. She can abuse Abbott etc in parliament and it's kosher, but it doesn't go two ways so trying to prove that she is a dead set drop kick and a crude excuse for a lawyer is Probably impossible.
