I ended up dead bang in the middle

I had more support for Rudd, but had more support for the liberals policies in some areas

It's an interesting survey/test to do. One of my Labor voting mates came out further to the right than I did. He will still vote Labor despite not being a fan of KRudd. Which I think is fine because we are not a presidential style of politics - yet.

Interesting results. I know that I will never ever vote for the greens, yet agree with many of their policies. I just hope someone on here ends up further to the left then me.

Yes, I added a comment on my position relative to the Greens on to my post above.
The American politicalslant.com site lined me up with them, but I am left on totally different issues, I assume, because I could never support some of their policies even if I do agree with 40% of what they stand for in other ways.

Had a great discussion with a Labour MP the other day re my local candidate, sitting member. Labour MP is a great bloke who has the track record as a fantastic community person and great advocate for local issues. I wished him all the best for the upcoming election and told him that there is no way I will be voting for his colleage in my electorate because they are BLOODY USELESS !!! I have had no feedback from my sitting member on many issues that I have raised with the particular member.

The picture painted to me is that of the polly's in the cabinet take absolutely no notice of ANYBODY in the caucus, unless they are part of a faction with the power. If you are not in a faction you have bugger all say. This is our Federal Parliamentary System as it stands today. A shadow of what it was designed to be.

Hopefully we will end up with another hung parliament and a strong Senate. Maybe the polly's will get the message that the thinking Australia doesn't want a two party dominated Parliament where a hand full of party big wigs have all the power.

And scrap compulsory voting, all it does is force the minority [ or is it the majority] of dim wits to vote the same way their dad did

Me too, although I'm somewhere between the Libs and the Unions on that one, having been both an employee and an employer in my lifetime.
I did regard WorkChoices as having gone too far.

However, I've seen ALP governments sock it to the workers too, for example in WorkCover modifications in SA and Victoria aimed at cutting costs once they had gotten into excessive debt.

I ended up almost exactly on top of the Greens marker, fractionally to the left of them which surprised me a bit.

I tried a number of times to do a screenshot but none of them worked.

Each of the main networks had their own system, some used twitter, others just a studio audience. Very uninspiring from both leaders and i doubt it would have made many change their minds.
