Rudd is a better option than Gillard
Rudd does not have what it takes to lead this country
Abbott is dangerous and a far worse option than Rudd

Abbott, is a less skilled faker but a little more trustworthy/predictable, and is being cagey in not giving the ALP time to work up a transiently convincing fear attack on his policies. Such a campaign of fear would only have to stand up to scrutiny for a for weeks to tip a close election.
However, it is all relative as they are politicians and therefore at the lower end of any trustworthiness scale.
The truth is, whoever wins we are going to have to make economies before our present moderate debt levels start to blow up into serious ones on the "just a little bit more to win the next election" principal which adds up over decades. The main reason I support the Libs is that I think they have a better grip on this reality and have demonstrated that over the years...

I think Tony is a bit brighter than GWB, and more able to be persuaded towards balance by Turnbull and Hockey - so I don't think an ALP-style coup will be on the agenda.dedja wrote:Abbott will be Australia's version of George W Bush ... until he is rolled by Turnbull which may happen before the end of his first term
