Gillard should go!

Labor, Liberal, Greens, Democrats? Here's the place to discuss.

Why?
Because she said that it is appalling that a woman who has a gender image problem should have a gender attitude crack at a bloke with a wife and 3 daughters, is pro-life, and tried to help her through some of her own problems?

I think there is an incredibly sinister adviser group telling Gillard what to say and do and she is prepared to do anything to survive.

She is almost at the point of being the worst PM we have ever had, and I'll chuck Keating into that - and you know how much I hate that prix

I agree with Eva Cox, Abbott is sexist but not a misogynist.

I doubt Labor will be using the slogan "The ALP turning single mums to prostitution & stripping" at the next election:

Some single mothers hit by recent welfare cuts to parenting payments have turned to prostitution and strip clubs in order to keep a roof over their family's head.

A spokeswoman from a Brisbane brothel told AAP there had been "influx" in applications from single mothers looking for work since the welfare changes came through.

She said there had been about 20 applications.

A woman from a St Kilda brothel said she had also noticed a huge increase in single mothers seeking sex work.

I'm old enough to remember when Labor weren't morally & ethically bankrupt.

Gillard parachuting Nova into the #1 spot on the NT Senate ticket. NT branch not happy. Crossin's husband is the king maker of NT Labor politics (NT Unions Chief) so will be interesting if they pre-select Nova over Crossin despite what Gillard may want the National Exec to do. The truth be told, NT Labor want to endorse another indigenous women for teh #1 spot, Marion Scrymgour who was deputy Chief Minister under the old labour Govt. By all reports (mate VERY close to NT politics) she wants the spot.

This could be interesting as the one thing Territorian's don't like is being told what to do by Southerners. This could get ugly for Gillard
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Trish Crossin is not a happy camper at the moment and given her past support of Rudd could also cause Labour some headaches.

Probably not a big deal as perhaps 5 people on Earth have heard of Crossin, but another dumb move by Gillard.

She's either extremely stupid or naive, and her advisers must be imbeciles.

Probably thinks that it shows assertive leadership when in fact she is just alienating the party.

I'd never heard of Crossin until yesterday, but that doesn't mean she was doing a bad job. The opposite probably applies. The feeling around town is territorians don't want a novice politician representing the territory. They also want someone to represent ALL territorians, not just some.

Think Gillard has made a massive mistake in trying to play the race card to sack a 15yr veteran to replace and bypass the democratic process within the party which members are entitled to participate in. A, its not working with feedback from local aboriginal people, several of whom have stated to the meida that they find it offensive, and B, its also upset a number of their own members because of the removal of the democratic process and the fact that its blatently obvious that she is being targeted because she supported Kevin Rudd.

Especially after the recent rhetoric from the party about needing to put more decision making back into the hands of party members.

Quote from the Australian online - http://www.theaustralian.com.au/national-affairs/backlash-grows-over-pms-decision-to-push-nova-peris-for-nt-senate-spot/story-fn59niix-1226559811052

'The national executive is meeting to admit Ms Peris as a member of the ALP and to remove any impediments under the party's rules from her becoming a candidate without a membership history. It will also set out a process for a central preselection of the NT Senate candidate'.

Nova must really have the political goods to warrent such preferential treatment!
