Bill is waaaaaay too smart/slimy/shrewd to take that poison chalice.

Just finished doing Kevin Rudd and Tony Abbott’s makeup for the People’s Forum at the Broncos Leagues Club.

One of them was absolutely lovely, engaged in genuine conversation with me, acknowledge that I had a job to do and was very appreciative. The other did the exact opposite! Oh boy, I have ever had anyone treat me so badly whilst trying to do my job.

Political opinions aside...from one human being to another...Mr Abbott, you win hands down.

Congrats on being a News Ltd Lemming. Smiling and nodding instead of engaging in pointless polite conversation when your thoughts are elsewhere? Obviously he should be shot.

Even if you think Abbott is a great bloke coming to save you from whatever he's managed to convince you is coming to get you. Imagine people like climate change denier Mirabella in charge of science, or Christopher Pyne in charge of education.

Horrible stuff.

So now KRudd's latest grandiose plan is to relocate the Australian navy to Queensland. I think next weeks plan includes shifting the Sydney Harbour Bridge to the Gold Coast and the MCG to Brizzy. Only 11 days to go...tick, tick, tick!

You're not really the sharpest tool in the box are you? Where did Aboott say he was going to buy all the boats in Indonesia? Would this include ski boats, tinnies, trailer sailers, the Navy?

It is not a sound policy, but what he said was buy the smugglers' boats.
I assume the fantasy was they would retire on the money they got, but I think they would just buy a bigger and better boat.
Meanwhile PNG is unravelling fast I gather.

I think the guts of the scheme was to empower a few guys on the ground over there to outbid people smugglers trying to buy boats on occasions where they had a good chance to disrupt the procedure. The numbers are not big so by driving up the price of second hand fishing trawlers the degree of difficulty goes up accordingly. The budget for the operation was $25m. Or about a months worth of VIP jettage for KRudd.

Voting for Abbott because you think he's going to save you from Rudd, is like wanting the AFL to take over the local clubs because you think they're more likely to look after the club's interest than the SANFL are.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Probably less expense to the taxpayer than Abbott's "volunteering" and "charity work".

Is Abbott's grand plan 'move all the public servants to the NT' brain fart costed?

Abbott has now overtaken Rudd in the polls as "preferred PM".

My main concern re the election result will be that the coalition doesnt get a majority in the senate. Thay would be a scary thought.
