My main concern re the election result will be that the coalition doesnt get a majority in the senate. Thay would be a scary thought.

Currently looks as though LNP will take out 88 seats and ALP to take 59.

With what happened with the Independents in this current Parliament, I wonder whether there will be no Independents or minor parties winning a seat in the Lower House.

Looking likely that independent/minor party seats will be limited, gotta be a good thing.

Looks like three seats will go to minor parties in HoR.

Also, large swing to Greens has left the 2PP mostly deadlocked. I don't think Libs will control the Senate.

Imagine if Abbott appoints Christopher Pyne as Speaker - that would p*** off the ALP

One thing I hope Abbott does do in his first term, is bring in 4 year fixed term election dates. Perhaps he 2nd Saturday in August every 4 years.

Re the Ministry - presumably Hockey as Treasurer; perhaps Turnbull as Health Minister. Morrison ad Immigration Minister, Hunt in the Environment portfolio.

Surely Julie Bishop wont be made Foreign Minister :o She'd be out of her depth I suspect.

Joe won that hands down but stumbled badly when the SBS chic asked him about the $200 cheques to married couples to seek counselling policy that is hidden away. Good piece of filibustering there from our Joe

Pyne is a walk up start for leader in the house. He will be an absolute gun at it. Albo could get the manager of opposition business gig so they would square off again, only on the other side of the speaker. Awesome prospect I reckon.

The work experience treasurer had very few good moments and Joe trumped him big time on the "Labor will never run a surplus, it's not in their DNA.." line.

I wouldnt have thought the overly generous and fiscally reckless paid parental leave policy of Abbott's, was in the Liberals' DNA.

Where's the evidence that its affordable?

If its not affordable/necessary, then its too generous.

It is being funded by a tax which is yet to be introduced. So, unless you can prove that the introduction of this tax on the richest few thousand companies in the country, will be fiscally reckless, your argument falls flat. I don't agree with the plan at all. But if we have to have one, at least this one does not tax the population. To argue against the proportionate amount mothers will get is socialist and has no place in a capitalist system.

It reportedly doesnt have the support of quite a few others in the Liberal and National parties.

Will it ultimately prove to be the downfall of Abbott. Turnbull would be hoping so.

Universal entitlement policy is generally accepted as poor economic management.
