I think Government spending is pretty important at the moment, a budget deficit (not one of crippling size) will assist the recovery process rather than hinder it, IMO.

I think Rudd is trying to do what FDR did to get the USA out of the great depression in the 1930's.You know building the Hoover dam etc .

Not sure what Rudd could do to keep punk happy .

Not sure you can blame Howard for the (non-existant) recession either. Global forces have caused a lot of our currnet financial troubles, the condition of the economy when the change of Government happened is a large factor in the fact we are not in a recession. It had some robustness that is now being relied upon to keep us out of the shite.

I'd pick you up on the shops run out of everything in yes you are correct on eastern Europe and Cuba .Not so sure re China seen shows on channel 2 where all the Chinese families have Punky's Large Screen Plasma TV's .

I thought he was doing a fairly good job at first, but I am now worried about level of debt we may accrue.
