Ardern wins in a landslide:

If the trend results are maintained this would be the first time New Zealanders have handed an outright majority to one political party in the Parliament since the country adopted the mixed-member proportional representation (MMP) system in 1996. MMP requires voters to tick a box for a local electorate candidate and another vote for a party list of MPs.

Kevin Rudd, he very keen on this Royal Commission vs Murdoch papers/sky news.
He has been on ABC a few times over last week or so carrying on about it.
Not sure what he is really trying to achieve.

The lefties are more than capable of printing a newspaper if they so wish. Also get great air time on the ABC so that wipes out the issue V Sky.

The US are clearly defined by Fox News v CNN. Here we have more options for our news.

I watch certain shows on sky, and others I wouldnt wish my worst enemies to suffer through such as The Outsiders. And with that, the ABC run Q & A.

We deserve balanced reporting, but we are heading down that US heavily biased media. But you can watch/read both sides and know that the truth sits somewhere in the middle.

He's suffering from relevance deficit disorder
Same bloke worshipped the feet of Murdoch to get into power
I'm with you. I'll read what I want and make my own mind up
They are all biased in one way or the other.
I dont have Sky and watch ABC more than any other channel. I even watched "Big Weather" last night because I chose to.
The lefties want to shut down Newscorp & Sky because they simply think everyone should read what they want us to read. **** that :butthead:
Maybe KRudd should invest some of his family millions into his own newspaper
Not likely though. He's sponged off the public teat all his life and wouldn't dare risk some of his money like Murdoch has

The irony of it all is that KRudd is using democracy as the reason.
That's fine KRudd. I'll support an RC when you hit 50.0000001% of eligible voters.

The concentration of media ownership in Australia is one of the highest in the world. The influence that Murdoch has on political discourse in Aus is blatant - unsure why you would be against a thorough investigation into that?

It would be worth watching the documentary The Rise Of The Murdoch Dynasty.

If Murdochs presence is so strong, then why not compete against it??

I mean he could shut down all his media outlets, but that wouldn't impact who wins elections. Voters are smarter than that.

The unrelentingly partisan Sky News and The Australian have been alleging this for a while:

https://independentaustralia.net/business/business-display/unrelenting-attacks-news-corp-alleges-the-abc-is-too-left-wing,14015

It would be even less so since Ita Buttrose cut off the ABCs balls.

EDIT: here's some "ABC bias" fact check data:

Despite Morrison and Murdoch throwing the kitchen sink at QLD, Palaszczuk gets up easily.

I guess they have a mandate to introduce that Death Tax that Fatty McF***head spent millions on telling everyone about

Australia is really dragging the chain of EV uptake thanks to the Federal and State Governments sabotaging progress.

'Dumping ground': Australia charged with discouraging electric vehicles

University of Queensland research fellow Jake Whitehead said Australia had become a "pariah" in the eyes of manufacturers of electric vehicles because there were no major incentives to encourage consumer uptake, while other countries set ambitious goals and generous incentives to drive the switch from petrol and diesel engines.

"We are down the path to becoming a dumping ground and my fear is it will become worse," Dr Whitehead said.

The US and EU and other markets set a quota for the volume of carbon dioxide that can collectively be emitted across the fleet of a manufacturer's internal combustion engine cars. This is not the case in Australia, meaning manufacturers could choose to run out their end-of-line petrol models here while they ramp up sales of electric vehicles in more attractive markets.

Meanwhile in the UK:

UK set to ban sale of new petrol and diesel cars from 2030

The sale of new petrol and diesel cars will be banned within a decade, Boris Johnson is set to announce next week as part of a broader package of green initiatives.

In February, Mr Johnson announced that the existing ban on selling new petrol or diesel cars would be brought forward from 2040 to 2035.

Now the prime minister is expected to move the date forward to 2030 in an attempt to jump-start the market for electric cars in the UK and push Britain towards its climate goal, according to industry and Whitehall figures.

Looks like Michael O'Brien is facing a leadership challenge from Mathew Guy over in Victoria.

Would have thought the time was now for Tim Smith to get up there. He has the twitter game after all.

Regardless good time for a fractional batter with your own party, no wonder Dan's likely to win at the next election.

Vic Libs will be absolutely wiped out similar to WA. Absolute rabble.
Any half competent party should be able to oust Dan but they won’t come close

Staggering really. He comes across as a massive wanker on Twitter and I honestly thought to some degree he was putting it on a bit.

Based on this I would suggest he is in fact that much of a dickhead.

No wonder Dan Andrews can so what he wants with those Muppets across the floor.
