Could this be the beginning of the end for Ms. Bishop?

"DEPUTY Opposition Leader Julie Bishop has been slammed by the government for suggesting that Australian intelligence agencies routinely use forged passports while on overseas operations.

Ms Bishop, the Coalition's foreign affairs spokeswoman, made the comment after receiving a confidential security briefing on the Israeli passports affair from the Australian Federal Police and the peak spy agency, the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation".

The only way to know the answer to your question fish, is to know what was said in the briefing and what the classification level of the briefing was.

It is also highly likely that the briefing given to Ms Bishop was far less informative than the one given to Stephen Smith, and she has drawn her own conclusions (rather than drawn on fact). Given she has never been the Minister for Foreign Affairs or served on the National Security Committee of Cabinet as far as I can recall, IMHO I very much doubt that she has much knowledge at all about the operational activities of the six Australian Intelligence Agencies. If she had that experience, she wouldn't have made the statement she did, and then qualified it with her "retraction".

Julie Bishop v Chloe Fox, fish? ;)
