Anyone who compares the Greens to a politcial organisation responsible for the deaths of upwards of 20,000,000 innocent people is a disgrace, and really can't be taken seriously as a commentator on anything. And yet she works for News Ltd .......

I think this woman is the same nutter that blamed greenies for the Victorian Bushfire disaster a couple of years ago and said afterwards something like greenies should be hanging from lamp-posts, she's a real piece of work.

I haven't been following the anti-Green campaign, but I wasn't fond of them when I was listening to the CFA reports on my scanner in Victoria during the fires.
My house in the Dandenong Ranges was completely surrounded by the fires, although luckily none got very close - but 8 or 9Km is not far with the wind behind a fire.
I was looking at the huge trees so close to my house that I wasn't allowed to cull or even prune, despite the obvious risk in time of fire.
The fact that some of the 60 metre tall, 2.5 metre diameter Mountain Ash monsters tended to wave towards the house on windy days didn't help either.
[They were beautiful at a safer distance, and I'd have happily planted replacements further from the house - I had 4 acres.]

I've been reading the Greens policies, and could support them in principle if they were just a bit more flexible about safety issues.
[And prepared to at least look at new safer nuclear options that could produce adequate electrical supply base load.]
EPIGENETICS - Lamarck was right!

And it is The Australian we are talking about. Other News Limited newspapers may not have distinguished themselves with penetrating political analysis, but they were mostly down the middle and they split fairly evenly in their election eve editorials.

We shouldn’t blame The Australian for everything. It is what it is. And after all, has a tiny circulation compared to its tabloid stablemates. Part of the problem is that the competing mainstream media lack the vigor and energy to provide an alternative and a corrective. Too often, they follow anyone prepared to give a lead.

Give me the Australian any day of the week instead of the Antagonizer...

"Surprise: apparently, Bronwyn Bishop doesn't like the Greens":

Why do the Greens hate people?

The green people consulted “the science” and demanded human sacrifice to the river to make it well.

"An easy, but misleading, smear":

The ALP’s endorsement of this misleading News Ltd smear demonstrates just how shameless they are prepared to be in an effort to discourage progressive voters from voting for an actual progressive party

http://blogs.crikey.com.au/purepoison/2 ... asy-smear/

"Greens smear nails coffin on Labor’s inner-city MPs":

They said the split is emblematic of the divide over tactics within the Labor Party over how to best confront the Greens: ”We’ve already lost Melbourne but it’s fair to say that there’s very definitely two schools of thought … there’s the kill, smash and destroy group that believe that we need to smash the Greens and then there’s the group that feel we need to win by actually campaigning better and proving we have better policies and not staying in the mud. This is complete f-cking disaster.”

Speaking of hypocrisy I take it John "here's another $40million Mr Ecclestone" Brumby is no longer a member of Save Albert Park. :?

"The 'torture' of writing about climate change at The Oz":

A former senior News Limited journalist has described trying to write about human-induced climate change at The Australian newspaper as “torture” and has blamed the editor-in-chief for limiting coverage on the topic because he has “taken a political view”.

Despite her qualifications, Wahlquist says she self-censored stories on the human causes of climate change fearing they would not be run. She described this as “professionally compromising” and “unbearable”.
