Big Tom jumped on adelaide now to plead his case. Basically what he is doing is all funding normally for emergency is been redirect to other areas that require funds. Then the public picks up all the emergency services funding. Apparently that explanation should make us feel all better now.

Oh and its all the feds fault. Not that we built a stadium and a hospital......

I find it interesting that Weatherill and he keep saying that they are honoring their budgets for health and education yet they are cutting them
When pressed on the issue, Koutsantonis just mumbles that they are "efficiency savings"

needs to have its name changed to the "show me the money levy" or the "our mouths wrote cheques that our budget couldnt cash levy" or just admit it is the "we have been pissing your money against the wall for years, and we just realised we need more, so we will just take more from you because we can levy". but i guess they dont have as catchy an acronym. at least it isnt a "new" tax......

I must say, one of my more enjoyable mornings.......

He had to actually stop talking and swallow this morning because he was nearly drowning in his own froth
Did he actually use the word inappropriate?

Looks like Sa Water are in the gun again. Apparently the government has been using it as a cash cow and we are paying up to 6 times of what it costs to provide water.

Sa Water makes good profit each year. There is no doubt about that. Any incoming government would be very unlikely in wanting to change that.

Sa Water has recently been restructured with the goal to reduce numbers. Also I believe the regulatory is requiring Sa Water to make substantial savings throughout the business over the next 3 years.

Without a reduction in water rates which are only a small part of the issue, then we will see greater profits from Sa Water in years to come.
