That is very funny.....it always amazes me that those on the extreme right in American politics are very often devout "Christians", yet they believe in "an eye for an eye" old testament justice, are enthusiastic advocates of capital punishment (I reckon Jesus would be against that for obvious reasons) and any small moves in improving the lot of the less fortunate members of the community opposed vehemently.....I'm confused I'm glad I live in Australia where we have no capital punishment there is a commitment to health care by our parliament.

I tend to remind right wing "Christians" that Christ is quoted in the Bible as saying he brought a New Testament that replaced the Old Testament.
I point out that means those Old Testament values are to be discarded and replaced with Christ's New Testament values of forgiving and loving your fellow man.
It really disconcerts them when I do so and they are aware I don't even regard myself as a Christian...
