i am a tradesman that drives more then 25,000kms a year. wayne swann annouced cuts to the benefits i get for using my own car. i get less tax back at end of financial year now.....thats how im shafted

i am a tradesman that drives more then 25,000kms a year. wayne swann annouced cuts to the benefits i get for using my own car. i get less tax back at end of financial year now.....thats how im shafted

However, don't forget that you can gain a lot through the depreciation changes. Additionally, it was crazy that people received a higher RATE for driving longer distances.

what is it with me and labor governments??? are they just out to get me are they..

my mrs is shafted by the low income scheme of distributing $300 per year into pay - used to get twice sometimes three times that amount at tax time

This policy may help the demise of our car industry, most cars sold are fleet cars often to employees taking advantage of the FBT concessions for cars on novated leases. I feel for people who have just entered into novated lease arrangements based upon the current FBT arrangements they will be burnt financially big time. It won't take much to push Ford over the edge and cost jobs,BUT pensionsers will get a $300 set top box, now that's a social conscience This budget has had virtually no effect on me personally and I'd never buy a Ford!
