The obsession with him is pitiful. Rudd has nothing better to do and is getting handsomely paid by the people to do it.
I'm just pointing it out that the influence exists there mate. Not really putting my career on the line for it.

LOL - weird comment by Jimmy. Why would us discussing Murdoch's political interference impact on our employment?

This year is so **** up already. My current advice to all young people is just concentrate on keeping your job because it’s the most important thing you have right at the moment. Despite the stock market and media hype, our company intel is next year is going to get real bad employment wise. You don’t want to be losing your job. Murdoch will mean f’all if you standing in a line with thousands of others

Unfortunately you're probably spot on Jimmy. Fair bit to play out (globally) just yet. Watching the potential German lockdown and their economy closely.

Will anyone in the LNP be held to account?

Good expose on 7.30 Report last night.

Who gave Murdoch his media power in Australia?

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/ ... orporation

It will be good for media competition said Keating

From the article, it appears that what Keating said was good for competition was the introduction of 'cross-ownership limits'. The ALP introduced legislation that stopped a person with digital media ownership from also having ownership of print media. Unfortunately this was later changed by the LNP so that you could dominate in both industries.

Another success you can chalk up for the 'responsible economic managers'.

I think the real scandal behind the Cormann flight rorts is that the LNP knew it would get out, but don't even care because they know they won't be held to account, such is their contempt for the public.

Morrison's torching of diplomatic relations with China hits the wine industry:

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce on Friday announced it would slap tariffs of up to 212% on Australian wine imports.

The tariffs on Australian wine, described as ‘preliminary’, are set to come into effect on Saturday, November 2, and will range from 107.1% to 212%.

This announcement comes after China launched anti-dumping investigations into Australian wine imports earlier this year.

The South China Morning Post cited the commerce ministry as saying: ‘there is a causal relationship between dumping and material damage.’

Investors ripped into Treasury Wine Estates in response to this news, with the stock plunging 11.25%, to $9.23 per share. The stock was swiftly put in a trading halt, pending the release of an announcement.

Australia officially out of recession. Biggest single quarterly growth since the 80's on the back of a record single quarterly decline in June.

It's not unexpected that the year to September 2020 was negative.

Real GDP growth for the september qtr was +1.7% (3.3% gross less 1.6% inflation)

I don't think its a coincidence that the record decline quarter was the same time as Australia for the most part was in lockdown due to Coronavirus.

And don't let COVID distract you from the fact that the economy has been in free-fall for a couple of years.

Maybe lay off the Rowan Dean special sauce. We had the best ranked economy in 2011, 2012 and 2013.
