It has been confirmed that federal MP Bob Katter will merge his newly formed party with the Queensland Party.
Mr Katter and Queensland Party founder Aidan McLindon will announce details of the merger in Brisbane tomorrow.
They have agreed to unite under the name of Mr Katter's Australian Party.
Peter Pyke will stand for the new party as a candidate in the Darling Downs.
He says the deal has been struck after several weeks of negotiation.
"This is an exciting time in Queensland, this is an opportunity for all Queenslanders to vote for a party that will take out the Bligh government and those fools in the LNP," Mr Pyke said.
"We will be going for a majority in the Queensland Parliament, we will target all seats those held by the ALP the LNP and all of the independents.
"There will be no seat that is safe from the new party."
Mr Pyke says the party will make history.
"I come from a Labor background, Aidan comes from a Liberal [background] and a National Party background, Bob Katter comes from a National Party background," he said.
"There will be other people right across the political spectrum that will want to get onboard this locomotive and if you do want to get onboard you're going to have to buy a new ticket - join the new party."

THE Queensland Party is in its death throes, with the electoral commission advertising its de-registration.

The party has been in turmoil since its only sitting member and founder, Aidan McLindon, announced last month he would join Katter's Australian Party, begun by federal independent MP Bob Katter.

To maintain registration, a party must have a sitting member or 500 members.

The Electoral Commission of Queensland told AAP it advertised a proposal to de-register The Queensland Party on September 9.

Objections to the move would be accepted until September 23.

A spokesman for the party, Jim Nicholls, said the organisation would attempt to lure 500 members by then.

"It is certainly our ambition," he told AAP.

"If we're able to prove that we have 500 members in that time, then the onus is on us to do that."

He believes the party has only about 200 members.
