Nice one Rann / Conlon, yet another election promise sent to purgatory, just what South Australia needs, another set of traffic lights and resultant traffic congestion on South Rd...

Yes, typical. Pity people aren't allowed to change their votes when the reasons they voted are taken away.
Nothing short of fraud IMHO.

Disgraceful decision!!!

Once again the people of the South get shafted while the people of the North enjoy their updated roads.

Rann/Foley/Conlon need to be asked the hard questions.

Labor should hang their heads in shame conning in voters like this ......once again blatant LIES!!!!

I have to say Southee that this does actually seem to be the case, especially when you consider that they also deferred the upgrading of the Morphett rd intersection just recently, leaving the only main projects out north, the closest the South ever got to anything upgraded was the Anzac Highway intersection and Tram bridge which is hardly a long way South of the city!

Its interesting to drive down Commercial rd to Seaford and to cross over the same old single lane wooden bridge that they had there in the 1950's, governments clearly do care about and prioritise work in the South - in Safe Labor Seats I might add!

That is more benneficial to people commuting from Glenelg Anyway. That area of South Rd will never be fixed until something is done about Castle Plaza.

Apparently this promise was worth a lot of Labor votes in Mawson. When coupled with the infamous "put your family first" how to vote cards, then maybe Bignell is no longer the true member down there?

What gets me is that the promise was made, but now the change is made, the Cwlth gets the blame for not fronting the $$$. I didn't hear them promise loudly that the upgrade would happen "if we are re-elected AND if we get $75m from Canberra".

They'll get the money and tie it in with Southern Expressway Duplication Project.

It would be ridiculus to not upgrade this intersection after the duplication works have been completed.

Then they bite the bullet, build some pedestrian overpasses and close off some side streets between Daws Road and Cross Road Overpass to eliminate some of the signallised intersections.

Upgrade Marion road /Anzac Highway/Cross Roads Intersections similar to Anzac/South.

Shift traffic onto Marion Rd and upgrade sections of South Road between Daws and Cross road.

Should cost about 3 billion

Just make Marion road 4 lanes North only and South Road 4 lanes south only... You know it makes sense. 8)
