Gillard should go!

Labor, Liberal, Greens, Democrats? Here's the place to discuss.

Gillard should go!

Postby redandblack » Thu Oct 20, 2011 6:03 pm

I've stuck up for the PM up to now, but enough is enough, I'm joining those who think she should resign.

I support her on the NBN, on Climate Change action, on almost every policy and think she just gets criticised no matter what she does, while Mr Abbott talks crap and gets away with little or no scrutiny.

But now she's done her dash with me!

She didn't ....ing curtsy to the Queen of England

The lowest point in her life according to June Dally-Watkins in the lead story on the ABC website, titled "Off with her head", FFS.

I'm with you, June, it's a disgrace. She's got to go.

This whole curtsy crap reminds me of why I dislike royalty and the monarchy system.

In saying that Queen Elizabeth performs here role admirably, but I'd like to see there not being a role to perform.

Gillard should stay. She wanted the job, she shafted the Ruddster and dudded the voting public to get her into an election that she didn't win but she claimed power and she's managed to hold on. She's hopeless but who cares?

Congratulations :D

All you can do is claim you were trolling.

Seeing that your original argument is Liberal Party mantra, you've also successfully demolished that argument as well.

Thanks ;)

I've actually been a Republican since the 1960s, and was one of the protesters when Bob Menzies announced our new decimal coinage would be called the "Royal".
(I was just not able to vote for the model offered some years ago.)

However, if you accept the job under our constitution it comes with some obligations to accept the ceremonies of the office until they can be changed.
I'd be prepared to nod my head slightly if I ever met the Queen or any other head of state, as a polite form.
But I must admit the curtsey seems a bit over the top..

Interesting isn't it, how some old parliamentary traditions are still practiced, but others are thought to be out of date. Still, don't think you should show any over the top display to anyone born into the job.

Yes, she's got no judgement at all.

Everyone knows the Australian Prime Minister should subjugate herself to a foreign Queen.

As I said, she's got to go.
