Read this on a news server the other day, not surprised at the reaction that its getting, to answer a slur with a slur of your own on another group of people in the communtiy is hardly clever and speaks volumes about her capacity to actually do the job.

Is that blogger offended every time anyone uses the term "Aussie bloke"?

He must be blogging on the topic every day if so and SHY must be one of many targets he has

Presumably

SHY is an out of touch lightweight

She is provocative and that tweet was provocative but being in the senate for a minority party allows her some freedoms of speech others don't have. That blog however could have been shortened to "I hated SHY before and I still hate her" rather than spend so much time trying to convince us he was racially vilified by her.

Thats what he has done. Thus he is a bigger hypocrite. Also read his other blog further down on same subject. Doesn't like Anglo Australians much.

No fan of SHY but surely her slur pales into insignificance compared to the gambaro comment. Who needs One Nation

People in the public eye are constantly 'putting their foot in it' via Twitter, you'd think they'd have learnt to be a little more careful by now.

I've met and talked to her a couple of times - closed mind, narrow views.
Mark Parnell is a bit more flexible, and prepared to discuss issues up to a point.

Have to agree on that score, Parnell comes across as quite intelligent and willing to debate any of his ideas because he believes in them. SHY on the other hand appears to simply shoot her mouth when she is not simply standing behind Bob Brown holding on to his coat tails. It would not be a bad thing IMO if Mark Parnell had a go at Federal Politics, he clearly has the brains to be the leader of the Greens after Bob Brown and might actually achieve quite a lot if given the opportunity. If someone like SHY became the leader then had to debate policy on something like Israel or foreign trade policies, it would just become a complete mess instantly. Parnell could at least hold it together and maintain a healthy debate on the said issues.

Ah Sarah Hanson-Young, I remember her well from coming up the ranks at Adelaide Uni and being elected president Adelaide uni union or student union, whatever it was called. I even remember having a conversation with her, seemed alright then. But then years later I hear he speak and christ I think to myself what happened to her???

Seriously something happened along the way and she has lost it. Maybe its the greens influence or something, who knows.

She is an idealist and it would be great if we could all love each other and have an endless supply of taxpayer dollars to solve the world's problems but the world doesn't work that way.

I firmly believe she is a complete drop kick with simplistic leftie ideas that are impractical, unaffordable and go against the grain of mainstream Aussies.

As are the Greens - a mixture of blind idealists and self-interested opportunists.

There are, of course, opportunists in the major parties too - I never said there were not.

What I was pointing out is there is more room for new ones in the smaller party that will need candidates as they try for more seats.
So, the new generation of pure opportunists rush to join a party that has room for them to find easy positions and easy prominence.
