No they danced on the tables, just not very well, broke the bloody things & my local MP did his knee. I bumped into him shortly after that happened, he was "sheepish" about it when I asked "what happened"...

I think you're talking about Kevin Rudd's visit to a New York strip club.

Thinking of "party politics", and the whole thing, I have a problem voting for Jamie Briggs despite being a Liberal Party member.
I may have to check out the Xenophon candidate.

I have always found it amusing when a politician is introduced as.. "The right, honourable" such & such...

I am yet to come across one, of either persuasion, that fits that description.

Actually, that incident was a fairly minor part of my concern - just final proof of the general insincerity I've observed over several years.
He is a bit too capital C conservative for my taste and a bit authoritarian in style - though he tries to suppress it when he thinks he needs to.

Had to have a giggle at some of the Jamie Briggs posters up here. The one with him posing with Turnbull.... nice bit of photoshop going on there.... I really like the one that reads..... Briggs Delivers..... Exactly what he delivers I am unsure... perhaps it's broken coffee tables, and sleazy pick up lines in Hong Kong bars? I expect Briggs will hold onto Mayo, but will get a well deserved kick up the ar$e from the electorate. When Alex Downer was the local bloke Mayo was a 10% plus safe liberal seat. Briggs in just his 3rd trip (I think) to the polls has managed to turn it into a marginal seat..... well played Jamie, well played.

Very funny. The North Queenslanders will be pi$$ing themselves
His opponents are calling for him to resign because his electorate would be "aghast" Surely they will vote him out to prove their horror

SHY's "unfortunate maritime incidents" comment was much worse but the vocal lefties never saw it
