Sitting here eating lunch and googling stuff & came across this little known fact that  me

According to historian Niall Ferguson: "of the 125 major European wars fought since 1495, the French have participated in 50 – more than Austria (47) and England (43). Out of 168 battles fought since 387 BC, they have won 109, lost 49 and drawn 10", making France the most successful military power in European history—in terms of number of fought and won.

It would appear that the cheese eating surrender monkeys aren't that bad after all

A Ukrainian airlines plane has crashed minutes after taking off from Tehran with 180 people on board.
The initial statement was “mechanical issues” but seems a huge coincidence and Jordanian news are saying that it was possibly shot down by accident from an Iranian missile

Iran says it has "concluded" its response to the killing of its general, indicating that it is hoping the U.S. will not respond to the recent attack

Just in case, Iran mobilises it’s people’s liberation airforce

All jokes aside, who antagonises the local giant nutcase and expects it to end well?

I'm not sure exactly why Iran would make such a public display against the US. If they haven't noticed the US are a bit crazy these days and seem to be looking for a fight.

They could always have just attach Israel via there connections as per normal.

Confirmed by Canadian PM Trudeau this morning.

This is awful, absolutely awful, 176 innocent people taken from this planet because the ego of two men got dented.

Highly unlikely the Persians did it deliberately given there were no Americans on board and over a hundred Iranians.

Perhaps they intended to hit something else.

Agreed, I think it was a victim of wrong place and wrong time, the reason for the missile being in the air remains the same. One fat orange **** with a tiny dick and massive ego.

How does this happen accidently? We probably will never know but its staggering that an error like this is made.

He is an idiot but this crap has been going on for centuries over there and it wouldn’t matter who the US President was. There will never be peace in the ME

Agreed.

I've made the odd mistake at work, but AFAIK I've never accidentally blown up the wrong plane.

You'd think that a very high level of care would be taken before launching a missile.

Just like 1988 Passenger flight from Tehran to Dubai with 290 passengers shot down by the US Vincennes over the straight of Harmuz .

Surface to air missiles can be aimed at aircraft with tracking devices, the Iranian may have thought it was a US fighter coming to get them.

Surely the bare minimum requirement for that technology is that it can clearly identify the difference between a passenger and fighter aircraft.

Human error still comes into play
