Totally agree with what Senator Fielding is trying to do here! Doubt that the government will pass some or any of it though!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From the ABC,

- The Federal Government is set to come under further pressure over its industrial relations laws, with tomorrow marking the first anniversary of the introduction of WorkChoices.

Family First Senator Steve Fielding will this week introduce legislation to guarantee workers public holidays, meal breaks and penalty rates.

"People realise that WorkChoices has potholes and all Family First wants to do is plug those potholes so people don't have to fall through them," he said.

"If the Government was serious about not being arrogant, they would support Family First's changes."

Senator Fielding says the laws undermine family life.

"No-one wants the Government to keep on steamrolling ahead with no changes - that's dangerous - and the Opposition's wanting to rip it up is also reckless," he said.

"Family First wants to give people that middle ground and make sure that people have their public holidays, meal breaks, penalty rates - why should workers have to bargain for those?"

I think Family First has just lost second place on the Libs How to Vote card with that!

(Doesn't get them my vote because of the rest of their policy structure!)

Didnt you see the latest legislation passed in the last sitting. If on social security, incarcerated at the Govenors pleasure or someone who posts long, protracted and confusing views you cant vote.

Strong support by all parties and both houses too, thankfully

Coorongs' views could be confusing, but they are straight to the point.
