The Muffin Stumps take too long to work out. Imagine that you have 20 to 30 posters, each posting predictions for 4 games each round, then you have to go through and find out who got closest for every game. I did just that for all the odd rounds of last season, and it takes a while.
Maybe if we had a rotation system of 4 or 5 people to run the BFC threads, we could see the return of the beloved Muffin Stumps. I wouldn't mid that chore once a month or so, but every second week was a little taxing.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

It's made mainly of flour and water and uses a little yeast to make it rise. People eat it in a variety of ways, the most popular of which includes, fresh with salad, toasting with cheese, sometimes people put spreads on it or use them to sandwich a hamburger pattie.
We use the Bun as a reward for guessing closest to the weekly total crowd figure, and a second Bun is awarded for closest to the highest attended game of each round. There have been problems with the delivery of the Bun however, and solutions are being closely looked at.

Leave it with me, I'll start a thread.

Fair enough Magic Kiwi. I motion for a show of hands now.
All in favour of a return of the Muffin Stumps?
Hmmm, no hands.
All opposed?
Ahh, one hand.
Sorry MK, it was unanimous.

P.S. Does this make me facetious?
Gomen ne!

Had an itch mate? You wouldn't want to do that during auctions you may end up making a surprise bid.

Thanks for that Spelly, looks as though we'll be able to have a decent final five shoot out this year. As it stands our leaders are:
eaglesfan (7)
sturtpeter (6)
Constance_Perm (5)
Thiele (5)
Ecky (4)
spell_check (4)

If it stays like this then the first week of the finals will be
Elimination Group:
Spelly vs Ecky vs Thiele
Qualifying Group:
Sturt Peter vs Constance Perm

The above combinations will be predicting against each other over the figure for the Finals Double Header, they only need to guess closer to the figure than the others in their group to progress. Failure will follow the usual final five pattern in that the loser of the Elimination final will be eliminated, the loser of the Qualifying will meet the winner of the Elimination etc. Because there is a tie for fifth place, there will be more than one loser of the Elimination final.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail
