I'll see if I can find a write-up for you.

But with Ramco winning - I'm sure Kym Thiel would be a very satisfied man.

Here you go, it's here for posterity now.
Also worth noting the only coverage The River News gave of the RFL grand final was a wrap up of Waikerie's B Grade loss.
They haven't even mentioned the A grade GF.

MID MURRAY FOOTBALL … Ramco Premiers
BY KEVIN ROBERTS
The Mid Murray Football Association Grand Final was held at Swan Reach last Saturday in perfect conditions where a huge crowd (one of the biggest ever) had gathered to witness a Ramco premiership. In a very one sided contest, Ramco won by 69 points. The contest loomed to be a very tight affair with Ramco at full strength and Robertstown only missing Jarrod Mosey due to work. The game started in normal grand final tradition with both sides hard at it and both trying to get the early upper hand. Stephen Dubrich did take his part in the side recovering from a hamstring strain and was gathering plenty of possessions early with Nigel Hole dominating in ruck, Harry Maturo and Jason Marr on top in the middle were setting up plenty of play. Robertstown had to stay with the Roosters early and that they did in the first quarter, but the Roos could not penetrate their forward 50 metre, and when they did they dropped easy marks due to the pressure created by the Roosters back half. On the other hand Ramco’s Ricky Ebert was on fire early kicking the first two goals of the match, giving the Roosters a 13 point lead at quarter time. In the second the Roosters running machine cranked up and left the Roos looking fl at footed and not being able to provide a contest. They were ruthless in their attack and were winning every position on the ground. Mick Wilson on the wing was sensational, continually winning the contested ball and pumping it deep into his forwards. This being the difference between the two sides as the Roosters had too many options up front, again having eight goal kickers for the day. They powered on eight goals for the quarter, setting up a match winning lead of 51 points at half time. For Robertstown too many of the gun players such as Jordan Kotz, Mueller, Wittwer, Pfeiffer, Button and co. were unable to get into the game. Roos coach Murphy gave his troops a “rev-up” at the major breask, asking for a better second half effort. In the third the Roos were able to stop the dominace of the Roosters, playing a lot harder as they tried to create, but once again were unable to get those easy goals. By three quarter time the Roos had sliced a bit of the defi cit, reducing the margin back to 42 points. Kym Thiel just asked his players to continue to do the one per cent things they had done to get them into such a strong position. Any glimmer of hope the Roos had were squashed 30 seconds into the last as the Roosters goaled increasing the margin to eight goals. From there on the Roos battled hard, but it was party time for the Roosters as they continued to pepper their goal front. The big army of supporters around the ground got louder, pushing the Rooster players to fi nish off. By half way through the last the Roos looked spent and no miracle come-back was going to happen as Ramco kicked 5.5 for the quarter, pushing the margin out to 69 points at the fi nal siren. After the disappointment of last year’s defeat the Roosters prevailed, setting up a big night of celebrations. Congratulations Ramco. Best on Ground was awarded to Mick Wilson. Jason Marr and Sheldon Keller were award Most Valuable Player for their respective sides. Earlier in the day, BSR made it three from three, winning the U13, U16 and B Grade in a great effort for the club. The U13 game was a beauty with players both from the Bulldogs and Ramco having a real go. Some of the tackling and hardness at the ball was a real treat to watch as both clubs have good things to look forward to in coming years. In the end the Bulldogs fi nished the better, making it back to back premierships and finishing the season undefeated. In the U16’s it was BSR and Morgan Cadell. In the second semi- fi nal the Tigers gave the Bulldogs a bit of a touch up winning easily, but the Bulldogs bounced back by playing some great football to win the grand fi nal. The game, once again was a treat to watch with fast movement of the ball from both sides. For Morgan Cadell to be in the grand fi nal was a great result as they hadn’t had a U16’s side for a number of years. Let’s hope that they continue to form an U16 side as it is so important to be able to keep kids in the club. In the end the Bulldogs won convincingly. The B Grade was between BSR and Sedan Cambrai. The Magpies went into the game with nothing to lose as the Bulldogs were red hot favourites. At half time the Magpies were in front by two points and an upset loomed, but the Bulldogs hit their straps in the third kicking 11 goals and continued on in the last to eventually win by 80 points. Best on Ground was Mark Butcher who kicked six g o a l s . R o d Pridham and Matt Gregory were voted Most Valuable by their team. Congratulations to all the winning teams and the association for a great grand fi nal day. The crowd of around 900 people showed that football in the Mid Murray is alive and well.

Interesting you should say that Dogwatcher, "The Murray Pioneer" published in Renmark comes out on Tuesdays and Fridays had no mention of the Mid Murray results (at least in the on-line version). There seems to be a bit of a line drawn at Waikerie!

Murray Pioneer doesn't really cover that area. They never have MM results.
However, the River News spends all year covering the RFL.
It'd be like the Tiser not having any AFL results cos the Crows or Power weren't in the GF.

mmmm...... funny about that, a couple of weeks ago all the locals thought their side was shoe in, but the GF ended up being an all Loxton event.

Do you know people there?

But yeah - the Magpies got rolled big time. Injuries did cause them problems big time though. Although - their reliance on ol' fellas such as Griffiths, Tape and others might have proved a downfall. Not quite the Magpies of previous years. Also goalkicking machine Oliver was quite against both loxton and loxton north.

and,as usual when the Maggies don't hear the flag, we hear tales of bust ups within the club. Never sure what's truth and what's not.
Be interesting to see how the club reacts to this result. Will more big money be spent?

I was there for work last week, and get up there (and Berri, Renmark, Barmera) a few times a year, there was a fair bit of excitment in Loxton last week.

Sure was.
One of my staff coached the Loxton colts - who won the flag undefeated. Boy there's some talent there.
The last Loxton team to win the colts flag featured Tony Modra.

I see Mal Greenwood won the Barossa medal, could Loxton have been even stronger this year Dogwatcher. Although dare I say it a little poorer.

I'd imagine that would be the case Supa, and bearing in mind that Shane Schubert's playing at North this year too.
It's going to be interesting to see what Loxton does next year. Plenty of young talent there - aned not much of it appears to be moving on.
