Muffy went alright when he played, missed a few games from memory, must be near 30yo by now but he's quick, has good skills and runs forward. Tailem Bend wont be the same without him thats for sure

My ladder standing prediction for 2007 season:

1 Ramblers - with the recruitment of Ryan Viney (confirmed in Murray Valley Standard) and a few other handy players, and no confirmed losses (although ruckman Daniel Voigt may be playing in West Aust but this is not definite), i think the Roosters will win their first flag since 1987.

2 Jervois - have recruited well again this year, i think they'll play off in the GF again, but may not be as hungry as previous 3 years. Under coach Tim Richards though should never be underestimated.

3 Mypolonga - should definitely be the big improvers with some handy recruits. Depth at the Tigers this year will be much better with some quality players joining the club.

4 Imperials - will be battling for 3rd spot with Mypolonga. Have lost some of their recruits from last year, but with their strong local player will remain competitive. If they recruit some quality players will definitely be in contention again

5 Mannum - has recruited reasonably well this year with the return of Quinn and Sinkinson from Loxton. Should have much better depth this year and are likely to be a strong chance for a finals berth. Youngsters will have benefitted from last year's experience.

6 Meningie - should be slightly less competitive than last year with some player losses, but with a few ins and some quality local youngsters, will still be a chance to make finals. Should battle it out with Mannum for 5th position.

7 Tailem Bend - in rebuilding mould, depth likely to be a problem with some significant player losses. Will need to sign some quality players before the start of the season to be a chance for finals.

Viney will cut them up in this comp- long kicking strong type loves to kick goals.
Agree with thoughts on mypo have heard of a couple of city recruits will strengthen them. Tailem bend would be shattered by this prediction- there were high hopes for them this year- Obviously promised recruits are not being delivered

Don't expect any handballs from Viney. Hardly set the world on fire at South.

Bit on the Jacko's and then RMFL 2007

Postby Big Fulla » Wed Mar 14, 2007 2:23 am

Bradley Jackson annoys the crap out of me on the oval, coz he's a match winner, runs all day and he's a top bloke, fair player and I don't have a clue why he isn't playin for Jervois at the moment apart from the fact that it might be a protest against their recent importing policy. Even though Brad's a gun and I've played enough against him to know what he can do, still gotta take big Adam Jackson from the Roosters over him.

Keen as to get 2007 started, Ramblers, Jervois, Imps is all I can see so far. The others did absolutely nothing last year but make up the numbers. I can't see that changing much, depth is the word for today and at the moment only Ramblers, Jervois and Imps have it.

But no matter what it's gonna be entertaining.

Big Unit Vines

Postby Big Fulla » Wed Mar 14, 2007 2:31 am

Say all you want about this bloke, bottom line is you'd need a bulldozer to stop him, he's a BIG UNIT and with him spliitin packs and the class of Chets, Liam O'Neil and a stint from Big Zads midfields are gonna have their work cut out.

And why would I want Vines to handball let alone any of these guys, they all kick 50 metres+ while lacin out Girardi the Rooster machine is ready to roll.

I'm gettin ready to see some hard, tough in close work from these blokes and if you want to see a good show you'll be at Rooster Park as well.

4 in a row, seems a long way off right now

Postby Big Fulla » Wed Mar 14, 2007 2:35 am

Touched up by Sturt U/19s, gun players not training, doesn't sound like a team on the verge of 4 flags in a row. However, it is only early days and I'm sure Timmy will come up with something. Or will he?
