Saints have just announced they have pulled out too.
Another Club may pull out yet - subject to some COVID restrictions easing.

Just heards its not the done deal the NEFL made it out to be.

Riverton seriously considering and apparently Min Man are no certainty now.

Interesting that all these clubs had big recruits and had talked a big game over the summer.

Big Recruits equals Big $, hard to pay Big $ if no money coming in
None of the clubs would want to go bust and not win it, they need bars, canteens, supporters, social events to raise $
These recruits would not have played for nothing, hence the reason these clubs aren't participating

Not understanding this as Bars, canteens, supporters and club functions will be open by round 1 in all leagues.

Neither of you make sense. There are no player payment expenses..... these clubs are just lazy

Obviously you don't occupy a comittee position.

Not correct, some clubs just take the commitment to adhere to the guidelines more serious than others.

Already hearing one club at training is very loosely abiding by the current hygiene rules which is causing a slight divide within the club.

Will be interesting to see both city and country how many clubs do the required level of cleaning etc especially given its highly unlikely to be policed at a high level.

Probably was a little harsh, but the current restrictions are not insurmountable for a country footy club. Yes, they require additional effort. One option is to throw it in the too hard basket, while the other is to put a bit of extra work into it for a short while. I get that clubs require players to commit under the circumstances also, and that may be a big factor for some clubs. So which is it for these clubs that have pulled out?

Btw, my club's committee is doing the extra work required to hopefully to give our junior and senior players an opportunity to play footy this year. The easy option for us was to simply throw in the towel and move on, but that would have been detrimental to our club because many of players want to play and may well find a club elsewhere to play at if we don't participate.

Former cats junior, GWS listed player and LSU punter Josh Growden is back in for Blyth Snowtown this year. 2 Lloyd brothers are now thinking about having a kick with him.

2019 State Country Half Back Gile Ellis from Kadina also in for the cats, along with another young kadina A grader. Two Paskaville A graders also playing for the cats in the twos.

Lachy Summers and Cam Andriske also coming back now as both were going to play in town.

North Clare have lost Brock Castree but picked up Nick Rowe(?) from Jamestown and 4 A Graders from the YP League, a couple from Pasky and a couple from Kadina.

Looking forward to heading over to Clare to watch the YP lads go round for North Clare and Blyth/Snowtown Saturday. All up it’s close to 15 of them so interesting to see how the all fit in.

Correct. I’m hearing the Pasky boys are taking the famous Pasky bus over Saturday which tells me it’s all a novelty and about having fun and drinking pi55. And I would say some of the Kadina lads(all mates) will be on it doing the same.
