Dr Football - I just got sick of some of his childish comments, which were also aired on other forums. I think most people we deal with on forums get points across in fair ways, and blatant 'bagging' isn't tolerated. Saw him coming a mile away with some of his comments. He told me personally that he was leaving this forum. I would have opened the door if I was there.

well, well, some heated conversations here lads. came across this site today and have madly been updating myself on the banter about the I.B b's, lofty and the cabbages disgraceful effort after being outclassed by a better side, again. dont think that character will get them far, id say onkas v mtlofty for the last game in the 06. congrats to the young fellas being promoted shane maslin, sam miles. theres a few hills youngsters carving up for the double blues, shantys john macdonald and craig evans, and the maggies matty jaench are all doing well. hills footy really producing some talent maybe a couple of them approaching their first AFL draft. gd luck to them..

Definite talent in the hills. Drier ovals of late have helped highlight that.
The winner of this week's Uraidla Onkas clash should play Lofty in the decider. battle for 5th this w/end too...a few mobile phone calls for final scores may be in order...

As a first time forum poster, must say I have been impressed with the topics, but guys aren't we all getting carried away with the after match business at Uraidla. I am a keen Demons fan and I really reckon you blokes are making mountain out of molehill! Scott just wanted to keep boys together as a group and probably was unaware of the presentation of some 'who cares' cup anyway. Worse things have happened ... seem you don't want to remember some Lofty clown belting our blokes after game at Heathfield earlier in the season? It was a good game on Saturday and probably better side won ... on the day. Demons have had a good look at the Lofty 'foreign legion' and will certainly be there when it counts ... see if Devils hang around after a loss in the game that really counts ... if they make it!

dropkick, if u didnt think what was done by uraidla on the weekend was unsportsmanly then u obviously have no idea about sport. if mtlofty had lost and acted the same i would have been most disappointed. this isnt just a dig at uraidla most of them are top blokes, just suprised at their effort. to say sutherland didnt know is a joke not only owen tried to get his attention but a past president walked over and spoke to them. dont forget mtlofty lost a semi final last year and didnt loose their players, but gained new ones.. i agree thou bring on the real trophy now!

Dropkick - don't be so flippant. It was a bloody poor effort and reflected badly on your club. If Sutherland can see from one side of that slop at Uraidla to the other every second week, the bloke would that there was a presentation 5 metres from his nose.
The better side won on the day...twice now.
And don't worry, Lofty have had a good look at the demons too...Thomas in the ruck worked well for most, but is that the trump card that has now been shown?

Ever wonder why Sturt gave Silky the flick ??? In regards to the Uri snub it does sound unlike the Scott Sutherland i know, but if he was told the presentation was going on, then it is an absolute disgrace. I agree with the majority of the forum in regards to the Dawe's, they may not be the out and out superstars, but they are the blokes you would back in every time to keep a club afloat during the tough times, and are reliable A grade performers. These sort of blokes give a club the base to build an outstanding team around, as they have done. I prefer blokes like this than stars who run from club to club when the going gets tough.

Great post Dr.Football.
One of the best things Leith and Bruce offer is their talk during a game. When you are backing back into a pack, or carrying the ball out of defence, Leith or Bruce calling you in makes it that much easier, it's like having an extra couple of players on the field. You don't play 250 A Grade games for any club without being talented.
Scott Sutherland spent so much time on Sat arguing with umpires, that it's no wonder he forgot about the presentation after the game!
Sturt flicked Sloppy Skills because he is a peanut! He's a classic example of one of those blokes who floats from club to club looking for $.

Question: Is Matthew Cooper (Silky Skills) a local or a recruit?

I do believe this forum is becoming just a little precious to an obvious Mt Lofty flavor. Uraidla did what was asked, they stayed on for the presentation ... were they supposed to play a leading role? ... obviously losing a game doesn't sit well at any times .. Lofty would know, they've probably lost more than any one up until the money train arrived. There have been cases of some clubs not even hanging around, so I have full support in the actions of Uraidla. Not a case of disrespect at all. If it worried the Mt Lofty guys so much surely there wouldn't have been the large turnout of them in the Uraidla clubrooms after the match? As I said in previous post ... mountain out of a molehill ... get out of it what you want ... according to opinion. Might just get a plug in for the Uris B-grade who convincing beat the ladder leaders for the first time .. even with them having a couple of A-graders running around. Lofty can have their minor premierships in both grades, still plenty of fire left in the Demons!!!

Seems a minor cup presentation can cause a big controversy ... I guess the old adage ... 'winners are laugh ... losers can do what they want' may apply on this occasion.
Indian, Hills grand final probably be at Lobethal again ... Mail Medal night on Wednesday, Sept. 6 ... being the 40th anniversary season of the HFL probably would be a great idea to invite all the past medallists ... imagine the talent in the one place if they could arrange that ... John Zanker, Micka Weatherald, Kane Paues, Lynton Bishop, Matt Scott, Brenton Smith, David Murphy, Bazz Pfeiffer, Shane Russell ... just to name a few. Worth a thought Uncle Owen?
Guys, now the Country season has reached the finals, any thoughts on the prospects of those clubs who were also rans? ... believe Maccy will have to find a new coach with Lallard stepping down, but staying as player. Callington ... well who knows! ... Rams would be disappointed, but losing nine players from 2005 didn't help, Mike Duncan obviously keen to stay on. Blackwood did well considering a lot of players had to boost depleted Central team ... maybe Craig Bensch a man to swap roles with Simon Hughes? Gumeracha ... well I reckon they have been down for a while now, just need some spark, have some good kids, but lack direction. May be interesting to see if Greg Mullins continues at Echunga ... did improve their performances over 2006 but heard he was up against the club culture at times ... even blokes not opting to train 'cos it was toooo hard ... obviously not the right support for a coach who gives his all. Any other ideas guys?

GD

The money train was parked at Uraidla for a good pit stop to lighten its load before it finally rolled into Heathfield!

Credit where credit is due - Uraidla's B- Grade were the better team on the day, and deserved to win.

Speaking of fire, after a 15 year drought, the fuel is dry and the fire burns hot behind the gates of hell at Devil Park!

Gents as i know their are a few Lofty guys on the forum, can you give me a run down on how you perceived your trialing of night games. I have been a long time advocate of night footy ( particularly Fridays), i just believe blokes are sick of losing half their weekend to football. My club may contemplate trialing one or two games next year, are we correct to expect larger crowds. Anyone else on the forum that has experience with night footy in the country feel free to reply.

I have to ask as I have never won any awards in my life. Whats the format for the Mail Medal count. What trophies do they hand out.

Can I say its alot more interesting listening to people discuss Uraidla and Loftys wars than say perhaps Maccy versus Callington so you should all keep up the good work. Maybe next year Callington should play in the Central league for giggles.
