Talk on any country footy league or club from the SA Country area

Bluesy, after that last game I honestly can't see much point in them continuing. No one wanted to be there and the final siren couldn't come quick enough. I kicked 10 that day, but where does it rate in the scheme of things. No where!! Please tell me why we need them and what they offer, I will always listen to reason.....

Charlton Bgrade definatly wanted to play cricket and just bowl from the one end on Saturday. What has happened to the profesionalism in the game?
mav , havnt heard from me in a while? try cdming up with a decent subject then. Ravendale is just being set up, next year it will be the best sporting complex in country SA and we be there. Not across the road near the old dump or not in the heart of the housing trust homes, no a million dollar complex overlooking an oval!
Well done to the Tasie lads who represented PL. Good job. Footy training for a few has started, get out there.
Laeve Sammy Newman alone, rm how many times have you represented EP? (not including hopscotch). Adam Ryan should have gone though.

Snozza is matt smith

We tried everything to get that game on RR and if it wasnt for a couple of old stallwarts one from Charlton one from Tas then it would have been played but it is up to the guys playing to make the ultimate decisions and we have to respect that gotta remember the weather was crap on the weekend and i'm jumping on the demons bandwagon leave Sammy alone based on last years performance and some credit this season and he is available let him go to EP and wish him the best good luck Sammy

The BFC have a pretty strong junior programme, which you guys would know all about.. They cater for about 70 -80 kids in the 3 junior grades every week. MR, LS and WFC are at almost bursting point with junior numbers, and the Khalahari Roosters have shown good signs of a recovery, which will improve further when they finally settle on a home. If you take a side out of the equation, then the numbers become unmanagable (if not already). Suddenly 80 - 100 kids each week are not getting a game of footy, they go and play hockey or soccer and are lost to the system.BIG PICTURE panther. The PLFL needs the BFC to ensure future growth...the BFC needs to be successful to give the kids somewhere to aspire to...WE ALL CAN HELP.

bfc need to improve off the field also. its the off field reasons why the likes of jon hunt and nick franklin left. no one in the club, internal problems between players and coaches, etc. hopefully it does all get sorted out.

Nothing wrong with us, we will improve this year. I will go as far to say we will not win the wooden spoon. The way LS are looking.
Good juniors but they dissapear to the clubs with all the money.
btb you say to help us, try leaving our recruits alone, your all too greedy!

be interested rumormongrel which 'recruits' we have had a go at. I can only think of one BFC player in the last 5+ years that has come across to us (and was not chased by the club)....conversely I can think of a number of ex Waybackers who donned the Black & Gold....

bystander wrote:What an absolutely magnificent facility Ravendale oval is, couldn't even get a game of B Grade cricket there today because after a couple of showers of rain, one end of the pitch was under 2 inches of water. Meanwhile, EVERY other ground in town was playable, as i said, truely magnificent facility, something the whole town should be proud of!!!! :x

As i said "truely magnificent facility", got the call from PLCA Secretary today, our B-Grade game at Poole moved to Primary School so A-Grade game at Ravendale can play at Poole, (fair enough no probs at all with that), but isn't Ravendale supposed to be the best thing since sliced bread to ALL sport in Lincoln. The grass there is longer than the High School & we all know how bad that is. At least the pitch at the High School is level, as opposed to the one at Ravendale, what a joke that joint is, gotta call off a game there on the Monday before!!!!
See the Netball courts had huge puddles of water on Saturday to, should make for a great bounce pass, or whatever they call it, during the winter season. Great facility the Ravendale Complex, great facility!
Must say though, will be sad day WHEN TFC & Hockey fold cos players can't afford the subs to keep it going, let alone drink there!

Bystander, you should be the last person on earth to complain about the state of rav oval, considering your club was one of the three to vote against cricket becoming an integral part of the rav sporting complex, & in the process setting cricket back at least 5 years in this town, hence the constant frustrations we are all encountering now. We can only but dream of the facilities we may have been given, but no doubt the baseball league is laughing all the way to the bank with their allocation of $150K, (this to a non-national sport!!), half of which was originally for cricket, had we come onboard. Take 5 minutes to give Geoff Dodd a call & find out some details of what might've been, & no we wouldn't have lost Centenary! The attitude of council toward the PLCA is a testament to those caught in a time capsule, not wanting to make pro-active decisions.
Training nets, shade sails, playground for the kids, turf wicket, clubrooms, just some of the things that were ours for the taking, but I guess it's just easier to vote no because you couldn't be bothered to find out the pro's & cons.

Promises, promises, did you actually read the memorandum, clearly stated in the last point signing it meant moving to Ravendale and thus relinquishing Centenary, K-Mart not good enough? You want Big W too!!!! As i remember it 2 other clubs voted against it too, obviously we're not the only ones that actually read it!!! I notice the PLFL didn't sign either, maybe we're on to something!!!

Maybe not the sharpest in the shed, but certainly not the bluntest. Maybe you should have signed in as blablabla!!!! 10-15 years it'll be a waste land,(with a shed). It's started already, PLFL had to reduce admin fees to match everyone else, meanwhile they attract the biggest crowds, bet they don't make as much as they did last year, whatever that maybe. First thing to go will be umpire payments then the umps themselves, no umps no footy. As WAD said "investment", council wants to make money from it!!! As i said will be a sad day, not looking forward to it.

Snozza do you ever wonder why PLFL and other clubs voted against it. Maybre coz we dont want it. Investment WTF, good for hockey and Tasmans for 10 years then will be trashed like the good old ravendale as we know it. Glad they put it in a classy area and protected the ground from the S-W breeze. Ravendale = joke
