Knowing Clarke, myself played with him in the mid 80's he will put nothing in front of football.This guy is a total professional who sleeps,eats and shits football.If his missus is about to drop i'm sure Clakey will do everything in his power to get the boys over the line.Like he once told me back in the day "no point the missus giving berth if ya lose ya footy match".

The heading of this thread makes me smile... I grew up on Kangaroo Island and although leaving at the early age of 15... I don't actually remember any 6'6 giants !!

Remember lots of great times... mostly all centred around the football club though.

My grandmother was also heavily involved with Kingscote, my dad originally played for Dudley and my uncle has been involved with Wisanger and I lived at Parndana !! .... So had a 'taste' of all the clubs...lol.

But my heart was with Western Districts

Amum being a keen follower of kangaroo island footy the Parndana footy club beat the dudley united team I think 10-14 to 9-11 i see your McLaren site has had a few hits of late well done I like the picture of the oval with 3 big palms in the background were they the old goals many mmoons ago

Where to for the Eagles in 09?

Strong rumours that Clark won't travel for footy in 09 and the much improved Yank looking to secure the services of Wilson on a more permanent basis next year? Surely Howard will have some cash thrown at him from the island to the north again?

Eagles will try to focus on building from within the young group they have. Their main focus will be to try to gain a key forward which will compliment the rest of their team. They already boast a strong mid-field and defence. Possibly a couple of wingmen which was a strenght over the past couple of season but lacking towards the end of this yr. Adam buick has been feilding offers from the Mid-North league and his former amature league club, and could be lost. Im sure Howard will be with the Eagles in 09, due to him getting married early next yr and the wife moving over there. Unsure of Claytos movements, although it would be hard to see him moving on a perminent basis, he has been offered coaching jobs from as far away as the south-east to get him to go, but he has a misses and his family ties are strong with the mighty eagles.

If GA wants to get back to his hey days on the wing he should get in contact with the green & gold!!! Im sure his offsider the Pest mite also fill that key role up forward!!!
