No direct payment. Tasmans are holding their black tie ball at his hotel Saturday night.

As a ratepayer I am bemused that the Ravendale complex is trying to get other football clubs to play games at Ravendale so it is used to its full potential, yet the football club holds their major function for the year at an alternative venue.

Boags, you really need to start posting more often. That is a pretty good point I had not considered. If Tasmans were still responsible for loan repayments you can bet the show would be held on their own premises. Seems now that they know the Council have picked up their bad apple the success of the complex is not an issue to them.

That would be the trade-off then, the hiring of the venue.

The fact that Roo is playing this week has no relation to the Roosters Ball.
According to Bucky he only became available to play last week, what is not mentioned
is the fact that he is making himself accesable to the kids down at Ravendale Thursday night
and spending time with the people from Bedford Industries (Compass)on the Saturday
who are huge footy fans not necessarily all Crows fans by the way, This is all done because he is a genuinely
nice bloke with no agenda or payments.
I am also told that his one stipulation to TFC was that he wouldnt play if it meant putting
someone else out or upset the team balance in any way.
As for the Ball, The Lincoln Hotel offered and has coordinated the entire function as a fundraiser
for the Club, I spoke to a Ravendale Board member he said that they had been consulted about
the function back in May and there was no problems.Apparently they did the the same for the PLYC
earlier this year.

Of course there are no problems for RCC board members so long as Council picks up the debt. Your missing the point Ken, sure your fundraiser is getting put on for free but in no way are you guys supporting the very complex you call home. A clubs major fundraiser is always held at their club to maximise food and beverage profits. Tasmans get a free venue and can make more by having it at the Lincoln by not having to share in profits with hockey is how i read it.

Seems even the TFC would rather not be a part of the RCC

WCP the RCC Board member was a Councillor we have already conducted our major fundraisers
for the Year at Ravendale and in fact we have an OP SHOP Ball coming up again at Ravendale.
If this was any other club there would be no issue. the TFC continues to financially support
the RCC and makes its payments as and when required.
I am also under the impression that the female portion of the club were pretty keen.

Wayback bloke got the rest of the season off... as a runner.

No penalty as a player...

On Roo, I think it's great for local footy, and FINALLY a positive headline...

Lack of communication at the Times tho- the front page said to see Bluey's article for the match build-up, yet there was mention of the return of Paul White, and nothing at all on Roo!

I think it's time for on the bench with Pagey!

So i take it from your comment Ken that Tasmans must have been 1 player short this satdy for roo not to put anyone out, no - one in your b grade capable of taking that spot? All the shit that has been hung on poor old RR and he was right that roo would play for tasmans, 1 & 1/2 years late though ;)

Future does not look all that great down at rooster land then Ken. No under 17 worth a crack either. Looks like you need to win a premiership shortly.

There's probably an A Grader that's on his rotation between a grade and the cells... ;)

and they didn't want to upset the b grade balance leading into finals... :D

Thanks for your heartfelt concerns fellas !
All good at Ravendale When Roo became available for this Saturday
Matthew Dodd put his hand up to step aside this week has a slight injury
and is going away for a few days.
We have consistently played our u/17s throughout the year who have performed
above our expectations but as its the business end of the year all teams will be picked
on form. I am sure all clubs are doing the same things making sure all players are
qualified etc. Bringing players back to Port Lincoln to live here for the next couple of months!
It was great to see some kids out at training to watch Roo, by the looks of it some Dads
were having a good time as well.
Great to see some Ranger, Souths, Ramblers people coming along on Saturday night.
