Cant remember a horse called our longreach, who trained it? I loved a horse called Dibbles Daughter also used to follow Pillana Star.
Our Longreach was trained by Ray Whillas (not rainbow) a local hobby trainer. Also had one called Amelia's Crossing which ran a placing or 2 in town and was the better horse. Dibbles Daughter was a handy mare who went close in the city a couple of times. Was trained here by RG Angelo. She was out of Dibbles Choice that was trained by GV Richards. Won a couple in town and was a very good mare. Owned by a syndicate at Tumby Bay who won her in a raffle. Was actually 'in bred' which is nothing new up there. Pillana Star ran 2nd in a Lincoln Cup behind Overburden, and any other horse would have won that race. A non winner who also liked to 'follow horses'. Trained by Pug (who also trained the cup winner)

Tolhurst gelding trained by Pug Drewitt. Handy on his day, just didn't have enough of them. Saw him run a handy race in reasonable company at Broken Hill. Used to get back and run home....why do you ask?

Well Well, here I am.
Was at the races yesterday and backed Ma'Haba for the Axon jockey, he looks the goods to me . Will ride plenty of city winners.
My favourite horses were Jet Cutter with Roslyn Dodd aboard (loved it leading and giving a great site - trainer was a hansome bloke - i cant remember his name). Dusty Sabre was a big chestnut I also liked. What Adelaide horses will come over for the Cup. Will Chickaloo run in the Cup?

There's also a cricket forum but doesn't seem to make any difference around here. Definately not grub, I can spell.
o_l yes Locando was one of the true characters of the local equine industry. Rumor has it he ran the fastest Ravendale - Tulka ever seen. Problem was it was the night before a race. Had some very shady owners that I think are contributors on here. Are you one of them o_l?
Another of Pugs horses from years ago Lord Duck was one of the most awesome front runners I have seen in Port Lincoln. Won at least one in Town and early in the season was unbeatable. Just used to run and break their hearts. Always at the end of his teather when the cup carnival came around.

Hey BHD (and others) who would be your top 3 favourite lincoln horses of recent times? and why?

Mine would be:

1. Sunbury (pure blistering speed)
2. Jive Bunny (loved this horse - used to ride him in trackwork)
3. Manetti (there the day he won with 63kg)

SES will have a practice game in the first semi - LS and TR not up to it!
Tasmans will flog Charlton, how can Chargers claim to be a threat with Gray and Stockham as their first change bowlers. Charlton v SES should be a good prelim, SES to win. Tasies to win the GF though easy.
Is wcp on holidays or something?
