Lobethal is hardly a big town, don't know how you figured that out.

Lobethal one of the bully clubs, I wish. And 13 junior teams like the Dev's, yeah sure. We work our backside off to get what we've got. Those were the days when everyone hated us and we were always playing finals and gf's, but we haven't been there for over a decade, but there's the sniff of a new dawn in the air over at Tigerland.

What's that go to do with this issue. It's the clubs that will decide where this goes, not the board.

Really well it will make up for all those years we had board members undermining us at every turn, one is still there and has plenty of say, so pretty sure we have not got much pull in the hfl.

The HFL is made up of 19 clubs.

19 clubs who have an equal vote through their delegates.

All clubs are equal, but some are more equal than others.............

cant see the proposal by the devils getting up. why would any of the country division clubs vote for it ? would mean a nothing compeitition in country division.

hopefully the clubs will vote to keep the current system and the devils spend a year in country. if they're as big and powerful as they say, they'll be straight back up in 2015 anyway.

Very happy with the advent of the football program at the school, but definitely no links with Mt Lofty.

Hey Spearhead being a former Lofty player and coach and a former Echunga coach whats you take on this whole debacle regarding Lofty going down and Echunga going up ?? Congrats on the footy program as well mate

I think Mt Lofty were obviously in a tough financial position over the past 2 years but still made some poor decisions (mainly at a board level) that resulted in their current position, and should therefore take some ownership of relegation. Having said that, it's probably fair enough that they are fighting to stay in Central.
With Echunga, as some have mentioned earlier, they will do well if they keep their team together. They probably should ( and will) recruit back some of the 2011 Premiership team that have left- 0 pointers and quality players.
And thanks on the High School program-next year we will have at least 42 boys across years 10 and 11 involved backed on to this year's success, I'm really excited about its potential.

Visited my hometown for the Callington Show yesterday. There on the oval was a sausage sizzle run by Bridgewater Raiders, all in their jackets with no United Eagles colours in sight amongst them all. So much for the merger. Most locals avoided it on purpose.

Echunga to withdraw from joining the Central Division after running the idea passed their members at the AGM later in the week.

not what i'm hearing. i think the echunga members will back the judgement of the managment committee and agree to move to central division.

this then leaves the issue of what the hfl clubs will do with the devils request for a 11 team central division.

Central/Div 1 was a 12 team comp in the early 90's from memory.

It was also an 8 or 9 team comp at 1 stage, 1995 I think.

Echunga is still opting to be promoted, that hasn't change. Mt Lofty are on the phone demanding what way clubs will vote. They will push for an 11 team comp citing Country Div is dead and that some clubs within Country should have already folded or merged. They think that it is their right to stay in Central because they are a founding Central Div club. They also will threaten to join the Amateur League if they don't get their way. Boo Hoo.

BEWARE... Mt Lofty are ringing clubs stating they are in minority if they vote against their wishes to remain in Central Div next Monday night. However they seem to be panicking as it seems to be the opposite and most clubs will vote they be relegated as the rule states. They will threaten to leave to play in the SAAFL however the SAAFL won't have them as they are not considered a metro club and applications needed to be in by Oct 31st.
Here's a thought Mt Lofty people, just play by the rules and don't try to change them to suit yourselves. If you are such a great club you will be back in Central Div in 2015 :)

Spot on 'rock'. Our President got a call today. Sounds like they'll try anything to avoid going to Country Div. What makes them so much better or different than Birdwood or Ironbank of the past to be excluded from relegation. And I'm sick of hearing they are a 'founding club of Central Div'. Does that mean there are different rules for founding clubs from every other club. Give me a break.
And to all those Country Div clubs make sure you get to the meeting Monday night to vote this nonsense down. It'll be your votes that'll decide the destiny of your competition and your great clubs. Don't be pushed around by any bully's of the HFL. Stand up and be counted.
