It seems as if big Nick Prokopec took this league by storm in 2008... and led his side to a GF win

Waylon Nielsen to be named as Roopena coach, or already has.

Rumour has it will be assisted by Freddy Freeman who just won North's first premiership in 30-odd years

West Whyalla midfielder Leigh Symons is considering a move to West Augusta in the spencer gulf league, brother Blake also considering the move.

Should've probably posted this as one post, but here's more

Guy Elliott (19 - Half back flanker from Roopena) and Chris Beaty (18 - Similar position to Elliott from North Whyalla) will be playing with Edwardstown this season after moving to the city.

Think you will find it is Freddy Stringer not Freddy Freeman.

Stringer works part time for the Port Magpies in whyalla,
He originally got the job but due to a change in work committments
had to pull out so Waylon put his hand up.

Ah, Ok, yeah, I was originally going to post Stringer but it didn't sound right because I thought Freeman wanted the Roos job but Kelly got another year instead so he went to Norths.
Thanks for that.

I didn't say they have definitely signed, having spoken to both of them on the weekend I believe they will do so soon. Although Beaty is notorious for talking shit, so who knows. Chances are he'll prob head back to Whyalla. That's my opinion.

Whyalla Clubs might want to keep thier eyes out for a young centre half forwrd coming to live in whyalla by the name of Matt Quist. He has recently gained work there and is a very up and coming footballer with good talent and ball handling ability. Has played at Kangarilla all his life, shame but the move is on!

Have heard South Whyalla are leading the race for his signature or may have already stitched him up.

Reece Lacey from Ironbank (Adelaide Hills) to Roopena? Lets hope for their benefit he gets fit, because he has more natural talent in his little finger than most other blokes do, especially when the going gets tough.

Not sure on names but i know Waylon is looking for a full forward and another quality on baller. He feels that these areas let roopena down last season and will be a threat in 09 with a 80-100 goal forward to go through.

Given Waylon, Dale Williams and Gary Taylor are good mates with him, as well as Phil Smith (Lucindale), there's a lot of merit in this and yes, I believe I have also heard this rumour.

Can't confirm however.
