Ray will do a great job at Moonta. He'll definately get the best out of the players from 15-30 in their squad.

Interesting to see Ardrossan advertise for a coach in the Sunday Mail. Does anyone know who coached them last year? Was it Skipworth senior?

Presumably something has happened with their appointed coach, or maybe it was a tactic to sit and wait to see who could become available after decisions are made at SANFL clubs.

Yeah, played against Smith. Huge man, dominates when he wants to, pretty agile at this standard.
Travis Skipworth coached CY Cougars (Maitland + Arthurton) last couple of years.
Haven't heard too many rumours about which clubs have signed outside players yet, or about Oliver coming back here, although expect Bute and Cougars to have a big crack this year and Kadina and Wallaroo to improve.

Naturally all three are amongst their teams best players. Diesel I think struggled with injuries a bit, but by the ned of the year was dominant.

Football... Bloodhounds Lawson and Waller come home
Report: Peter Argent

Young footballing talents Josh Lawson and Benn Waller are returning to Kadina for the 2007 season.

Despite a number of good offers from other associations, the former Bloodhounds have decided to stay loyal to local football. Both were key members of the Woodville-West Torrens Under 19s side which fell out of the premiership race in the penultimate game of 2006.

Lawson, who was runner-up in the Tompkins Medal last year, explained "there is good money in other places and you will certainly not get as much were you to return to your local competition.

"I'm looking for a strong year on the field and definitely have an interest in playing representative football," Lawson said.

"Having experience at Under 19s and Reserves football, along with an improved fitness base, will hopefully help me in returning to the Bloodhounds this year."

When he wasn't playing at SANFL level last year, Lawson played a couple of games with Tanunda in the Barossa, Light and Gawler competition.

Both Lawson and good friend and teammate Benn Waller have also played football together in the Northern Territory Football League (NTFL) with Palmerston.

"Mark Tyrell (son of Woodville great from the 1970s and 80s, "Buff") has been keen for both Josh and I to go and play for Barmera-Monash in the Riverland Football League," Benn said.

"We both played under Mark in the NTFL.

"I wanted to stay loyal to Kadina and am looking forward to the 2007 season - play a bit of old-fashioned country footy and be a part of the football community on the YP."

Both Waller, who was the Eagles Under 17s Captain in 2004, and Lawson said they would consider further offers at SANFL, as long as they had a good season playing in the YPFL.

Last year, the Kadina Bloodhounds finished on the bottom of the premiership ladder after just minor round two victories.

"The Kadina Football Club as a whole is looking for a vast improvement, both on and off the field," returning coach Ian Elsworthy said.

"Along with members of the 2004 Colts premiership team, Benn and Josh will be the nucleus of the side this year.

"We expect a strong improvement this year."

The club's last A grade flag was back in 2002 under the tutelage of Elsworthy.
