RM and Eski - what was probably heard was that Souths have signed Easty who is worth 16 signings.... if souths have signed 16 its most likely u17 or even b grade - but as u said RM - someone might be doing the rounds at the pub...

The boys are just commenting that it aint up to scratch.... The new pitches arent ready, are soft and should be kept till next season!
Reidy should get banned from baseball this week as well.... Only coz we are playing them!!!
Did cause a bit of fury with the older cricketing fraternity that decision by Craig, Im sure in hinds sight he would do things differently.
What are your tipd for the baseball GFs this week haloman? Shiels all 3 as usual or can the impossible happen and we loose? Which grade would you say are most vulnerable?
Is the Tuesday a good meeting to go to or do you just go to the Cup on Thurday and get plastered?

Can't tip on the kids cause I'm coaching but that will be the best game of the day by far. RM you are perhaps a little misinformed when you speak of a belting in the juniors so we will let that slide. B grade Coyotes will win 9-7, A grade Shields to win 10-8. It's a shame our leauge committee works around cricket all season (as it should) and then decides grand final day should be on the same day as the cricket's first finals. I know for a fact that two juniors playing for Shields have been picked to play in Charlton's A grade side on the weekend. 8 weeks ago I offered a solution to this as I could forsee a problem on this date. I was greeted with not much of a responce. It seams strange to me that I could see this problem months ago and yet our leauge committee couldn't. Guess its because the kids in question have chosen baseball over the cricket this week so I'm lead to believe. Am wondering if these same kids were playing for Tod River and they had snuck into the finals if the leauge's responce might have been different  Goodluck to all teams playing finals in all sports this weekend. Especially to you Charlton boys, Tassies should be just about right for their customary choke in both grades.

Duck Duck goose!
Bystander what do you think when I bowl on Saturday if I know their team I might change my mind! Who cares whos in and out, just a matter of turning up, good to have two byes in a row then the GF for us. Light training run on Saturday with a litle fielding training , then the next week off (watch prelim with a carton), then play either LS or SES in the GF...... It worked out great for us! Whistle has had the shield engraved!

Win, Loose or draw Mav now that Jay's free to pitch his 100 you guys are pissing yourselves.
just for the record Mav Jay's record on the mound this season against your fella's is 2 wins 0 losses, 7 of our hitters have hit 400 plus for the season, We have the leauge best and fairest and the leauge batting average leader playing, This will be the first time since christmas our whole team will be together on the same day and our team batting average against Jake is around the 320 mark. Not huge I know but better than the measely 150 Shields have hit vs Jay. We may not win, you guys have a great side, but if your juniors think the same as you do Mav we will smash you. Fortunatly for you blokes Stuie Pobke's a bit smarter than that. He knows what he'll be coming up against and they will be ready for us. Time you put everyone's mind to rest and told us your identidy. Ben Adams in the flesh keeps saying no when i ask him so fess up. If it is you Ben then you are piss weak. Mav=coward=troll

sorry eags cant agree with anything you've said in regards to WF and the centenary wicket. It wont matter who you bring here or what advice they give it wont be improved. Reason being is that our local city council here have control over what is done and they dont want the condition of the oval improved. Early in the year WF had the ground looking great using a mechanical mower to cut the square low and plan was to extend this area and improve the pitch. Unforunately the loca city council banned the use of such mower and continued the same system where local parks are mowed with the same equip used on centenary. Result is that more seed from weeds etc gets moved to centenary. The operation was timed last week and it took 17 mins for the council to mow the entire oval. The mower was moving so fast that the grass was being torn out in some places and most of the oval didnt even get cut. Last week a water pipe under the pitch area broke and drenched the whole wicket and if it was not for WF no cricket would be played there for the rest of this year. Finally weather this year has been to say the least miserable. Adelaide turf cricket has been abandoned more often than played this year because of the same reason so if they are so good at the job in town how come we have had more turf games here this year??? WF does a remarkable job of praparing that wicket for us to play on and gets little if no thanks for his effort. Get off his case and appreciate the difficulty of his low paid job the man has gone above and beyond the call of duty to give us a professional playing field and his efforts should be appreciated good on ya wayne keep up the good work!!!!

wcp - you are right, my remark was too personal and uncalled for. i have retracted it and apologise.

perhaps you should review some of your previous posts as to whether they could be classified as personal swipes..

it is one thing to castigate others for making personal remarks but those who live in glass houses should not throw stones.....(eg remember recent comments about the Axeman, Hoges and others)

Something like that is not a personal swipe OL, this is a sports forum and whilst discussing sport invariably a sportspersons form will be discussed. Personal swipes are labelling someone dumb as dog shit which you admirably retracted. As for Hoges, I would never say anything towards him that would jeopardise our long friendship and he would know that most of my comments regarding him would be tongue in cheek. Unlike you.....

Thats a good side on PAPER there Panther.. Good enough to make it to the GF if everyone pulls their weight..

I am looking forward to tommorrow. Umpiring the Charlton v Tassies B Grade semi-final. Thought as I am a critic of the
umpires that I should put my hand up and have a crack.. Hopefully I see the inside edges onto the pad and don't fire anyone.. Am guessing though, that there will be plenty of appealing coming my way...

Much discussion about the forum at pub after training last night, apparently Liony has given Rediy a whole heaps of pages printer out from this site, not sure why. Craig not very happy with the abuse he's copping over sunday's match decisions, like i told him though it's in the past now mate and its in everybody's nature to criticise other people, give it a week and it will all blow over.

K.Turvey
D.Noble
S.Orchard
G.Symonds
C.Reidy
