Weather's looking a bit iffy for this week. Showers forecast right through to Sat. If WF can't get a pitch up at Centenary does that mean we play on hard wicket or does the game get rescheduled for next week?

Tonks must play, very handy bowler on the turf and therefore a tough call on other 3.. Reckon Haywood will get the nod over Doddy but unlucky whoever misses out..

Just for those who are sooooo concerned about our availability of certain players, check the constitution, Rule 11. (c) "When both senior teams of a club compete in finals on the same day, all players who have played 3 minor round games minimum for the season, are eligible for either team.
Those selected in the B.Grade team shall retain their B.Grade eligiblity should the A.Grade be defeated".
Therefore everyone who played for us on Saturday IS eligible to play in the GF. I have checked this TWICE with the PLCA.I hope this clears up any misconceptions that anyone may have. Thankyou for your concern & good luck to all playing in the GF's.

Rumour has it that this rule will be reviewed at the AGM, am keen to hear everyones thoughts.

What sort of review are you talking about? I can't see why there would be a need to change it? Players who have played a final in a higher grade cannot go down and play in a lower grade should the higher grade be knocked out. It doesn't matter what sport you play. If both sides are playing finals that week then you should be allowed to swap players between grades as much as you like.

Proposed review would involve removal of paragragh that says players playing B's when A's loose retain B's eligibility, therefore leaving the 2 of that players last 3 games rule only. e.g. Jim Stockham would not be eligable this week even tho he played in the B's last week, simply because the A's lost last week.

Nice pics Eags & Snozza!! Hows the myth of Tassies never having won a flag being shattered.. Pom Ovens told me that he knew Tassies had won at least 1 flag coz he researched the premiers in the 50s for a book that Waybacks did in 1996. The GM wouldn't believe him but humbley apologised today in the Times..

Good luck to both sides and hope its a close and exciting GF..

Had a quick look out in the archives during my lunch scoob and rm and can confirm that Tasmans have infact won the premierships. In 1949 they drew with LS and due to them finishing minor premiers they were awarde the title. In 54 they defeated Charlton outright. I always thought it too be true also as did the President of the Assoc for 40 years (whistle).
Not too sure about the war tho rm? Dont think you are right!

Haloman, I can see you there watching the cricket stirring up the young lads on the piss that missed a game! You love stirring the pot!
It is common knowledge that Tasmans have never won a flag and this is just a Bluey/another grub Grand Final week story. Believe it and your an idiot! As if after all these years of people giving them crap, some club elders wouldn't have known wether or not they had won a flag and put a stop to the story. What do you know about the supposed myth R Rulz?
Waybacks are protesting about Jimmy Stockham playing Bs, 2 out of his last 3 havnt been in the Bs so he can't play! under any circumstances.

Anyone had a look at the acceptences for the races Sunday....Sunny Diva all up Emu Walk was my bet for the day but EWalk has drawn the outside but should still cross or at least death seat and win - SD $1.80 into EW $2.60 - $3... so hopefully around $4.50 - $5 for the all-up.
Guernica can turn the tables on Linc Sea, with a soft run behind Let It BE and new star Shanicity it will be hard to beat. Back it each-way and you wont go wrong! Lex Luthor is proving costly for me but I suppose we better follow-up.
Mrs Spudley can run a race in town for us on Saturday and get a placing at 20-1, have a bit each-way on it - it is going well!
What are your thoughts OL, BTB, TRR, AK, RR? Could I get your tips for the meeting? every race!
OL have followed a couple of your tips and I am now broke, do you still ride horses or have some involvment in the industry?
mav I couldn't beleive it either but it is there in the paper! Get over it and move on and rm to say that the publicity officer is crap is a disgrace after he has just pulled the scoop of the last 40 years!
Interesting selection there scoob, I totally agree... Dodd/Haywood is 50/50... Tonks may not be the flavour of the month with the selectors.. he may miss? and agree that the best 2 teams are in the GF and The GM was right at the start of the year in predicting this quinella!
