I am hearing serious strife, may only have a B grade which signals to me the end is near.

not a money issue, its a player issue. They dont have the cattle simple as that. with locals as well as imports leaving last year not to sure what their options are.

they cant survive without an A grade is my opinion. where that leaves the league who knows.

How can you say its not a money issue. Money and the dumb way it was spent caused this whole debacle. If the money was still there, i guarantee the mercenaries would still be there. Why wouldn't they.....? They just won a premiership ffs.

surely all leagues have got to work out a system on each club gets X amount of dollars per season to recruit.
and I know the question of "well who's going to police it" etc but clubs are going to have to realise if they don't police it them selves no ones going to. talking about last years premiership at the front bar on a Saturday arvo cause you have no club could be a reality.
the only hard bit about that is clubs being honest enough in abiding with it.

I heard hamley were holding an emergency training last night to see how many numbers they got. Is this true? Can anyone shed some light on it. Have they folded, is it just the S grade or club in whole

I really confident that Hamley will go on in some sort of way, they may endure a few yrs. like the Roseworthy of the 90s while they rebuild, and think that lessons on money management would have been learnt, just wait and see

We would like to think clubs would learn their lesson, but unfortunately it's not the case. There are some clubs in the SAAFL that are perfect examples of this.

Spot on days, 4 or 5 years of heartache after the 04 flag. No money, mercenaries gone..... I was a part of that era and all the club/coach could do was to try to develope some juniors (Schahinger / Would / Gregory / Frencken) who are all part of the A grade squad from last year, so not all gloom and doom from those 4 or 5 years but for the club then to turn around and do the exact same thing again is dissapointing and likely to cause the end of the bombers
