Be hard to give out a tip on port lincoln races mate they dont want their picks to come in to short!! :)

Congrats to tassies, was a pretty mundane game until the last 15 overs when the tempo picked up a bit. I thought 150 on that pitch may have been enough but luckily for tasmans adam ryan (just as pplions stated) lived up to his name for the big games.

Alot of clubs having their trophy days today and next weekend, post your winners when you get them

Thank F##k the cricket is over...congratulations to Charlton and Tasmans who won the the first premiership they can remember....FFS what a club!!!!!
Heard a rumor that the B grade final may have set a record for the most ducks in a winning side...
On footy matters, I see hammer has left the toolshed and headed to greener pastures on the Gold Coast. Is running his families 5 star resort at Coolangatta...a good club man who will be missed. Has offered the place gratis for the roosters end of year footy trip....how generous is that...well done. Any players looking to go can contact Wally or Suds as it will be a first in best dressed affair. Resort has been booked from the 9th to the 23rd of September so get those holidays booked.

Yeah, 6 ducks in our winning side, 4 goldies from memory. Well Done to Luke Davidson on his hatrick too. If any of you Wayback boys have our can you please pass it on to me, Levi seems to have lost it. Not sure if he grabbed it after the game finished!!!

Well said Bluesy, can see the funny side to that.. History would say you would be right. Hopefully they might progress a week or two further this year.. Yes well done to Tassies & Charlton.. At least SES made a game of it and the Tassie boys had to work for it. Bloody good crowd...

Must have been a weekend for drought breaking, the once lame pussycats of Geelong have finally won something and the Crows supporters I know are in hiding.. Lookout for WAD, he will now be making some outrageous predicitions on Geelong...

Bring on the footy...

Heard about this site from many different people so thought i'd come and have a look.. read every page about the racing on here, peoples views and tips..( very interesting I might add).. first of All.. ESKI.. considering you've been involved in horses for how long?? you seemed to have plenty to say early on in this thread.. think you should stick to sitting at that desk playing wit calculators budday!!.. OL.. thanks for your support on here.. good to see some1 sticking up for the apprentices.. Asfor cup carnival weekened the the talk about jockeys out and about on the tues and wednesday night... I was out on tuesday (pretty Blind too I might add ) but respectable.. many of you would be unaware that the actions of other jockeys over those two days is common practice in the racing game... they drink till they can't stand up... tuesday was enought for me... wednesday was in bed by 9.30 and I was unaware that the other jockeys who stayed over backed up for a second night... personally one night was enough.. As for yesterday, people asked why I didn 't have many rides.. well considering I didn't have a ride for JGW I still had four rides.. if you look at the past meetings before the carnival.. i had 3-4 rides for her alone a meeting.. so really its still the same... cause if I picked up the 3 for her I would have had 7... she was away in adelaide her daughter having baby so that's why only had one runner.. You'll find in lincon trainers are vrey set in there jockeys.. that's why its hard picking up extra rides ( especially decent ones) cause each stable has a stable jockey.. i.e. Maund-lions... potter-dawson... cosy- hoppo... dunn-mhoppo.. Baccus-patterson etc... fortunately I have been able to ride for JGW.. but when she doesn't have runners then its hard getting rides... cause we don't have many in work at drewitts stable.. as for the lady force ride over the carnival.. think people talking outta there pockets a touch... I box seated on the horse.. sat3-4th the fence... just had no luck, horse should have won yes.. But I ask you look at the replay again.. just after the 400m you'll see me steady for two strides then go again, and if you look at b hoppo in orange colours, he pulls the whip through to left hand cause horse was hanging in on corner taking my run... then up straight the run came too late... JGW wan't too impressed either, but hey that's racing...

Other goss doing the rounds.......
Legend to be investigated for the pipe leak in the 1950 m shute
Kendite was given a cold run to get the odds up next meet
Rodeto was stripped on his hind legs after copping interference in the straight, will be sent for a spell.

Ramblers

Postby steiger » Mon Mar 20, 2006 11:03 am

Rumblings from a couple of GF clubs about Ramblers signing Boxer and Rule - reckon too strong now and them continuing to win premierships will not be any good for the association. Might just be grumblings, after all shouldn't you look after your own and try and set the pace and make everybody else try and catch you rather than come back to their standard. Don;t know who else they have signed but when you think about it those two are not long term players and perhaps the Club is just looking for the longer term. After all a bit of knowledge with those two and would be pretty handy blokes around the Club after they have finished playing.

WAD - F*&K your a downhill skiier!!..............it's only the pre-season - like its a premiership!!.....a poxy cup - only taken seriously by a few clubs........Premierships are won on the last Saturday in September - not F#$%ing March! :D :D (not that we'll see September for a number of years yet!)

More than happy to put a bottle up when we play you blokes..........but even if I did have to pay you.......you'd still only be recouping wat you've given me over the years!

OL - did u see your parents on the TV at AAMI stadium - FFS more Cats supporters! - btw a great day at the GG's - didnt make any money thou.....

first of all bad luck to SES boys on saturdays game i was there with tasmans crew, wont be sitting with them again found them to be an arrogant they were talking the win up before the coin had even been tossed and its about time we have seen rhino acctually do something for the season, must of had quiet one on friday night. Maybe Gelong will actually finish in the top 8 this year after tasmans managed to win. Could be a year of surprises.

rossco, you were a lot better behaved than at the last meeting! why is that so?!?!

heard more gossip that was young female apprentice was hungover and crook and stood down from the meet by stewards after 1st ride? hey axeman do you know anything about this?? I would have thought that the jockeys would have learnt their lesson by now - sooner or later the stewards will introduce a zero tolerance on alcohol

also heard that Surreal Dream will now head for the Oakbank 2yo

Surreal Dream will more than likely be heading to the paddock...pulled up a bit scratchy after the race...still there is 3 weeks to the next run so got time....
Heard that JM was targetted by the stewards due to similar behaviour at last years carnival...didn't have his partner in crime DC this year to provide showers from the Kingscourt balcony to passers by..(or the kingscourt for that matter)....what comes around goes around.
Rossco...down hill skiers...excuse me!!!!!!

OL - What did you hear on the last race involving 'the axe'. Slipped on the irons and nothing in it, I wouldn't want to be making accusations that he jumped off!
Anyone going to Penong this Saturday? It will be interesting to see if the meeting stands up with plenty of racing on (Streaky Sat after). Simone Montgomerie was stood down from the meeting due to an illness and is way to professional to be involved in drinking the night before a meeting... OL where do you get your info?
Totally agree with the $3.30 Sunny Diva I had it @ $1.80... unbeleivable - great that connections stuck with the axe.. Emu Walk was a major dissapointment in the last leg of the all up after leading.
Ledgend is having a great run with his horses isnt he... well done .. good character... great for the sport!
Yes Tasmans were too good on the day and season, the depth just told in the end. Credit must also go to SES for a sterling effort, after the early departure of Smith and Coombes you would have settled for a score of 150 anyday. Sensible batting by McGown and Doudle saw them reach a very competative score, Great wok by WCP to for his little cameo inings too, was the only player to run well between wickets. Tasmans Smith just let them back in the game a little when he supplied the easy singles when spin was introduced from both ends, with plenty of seamers it seemed a strange move but not costly in the end result. Tasmans were good in their run chase, panic never really set in. Hogan who was unlucky to be given out (as pic may show in paper tommorow) was just starting to look dangerous.
Ryan was good, just played steady cricket and enjoyed putting that last shot over the fence.
