Connor Fairlie's clearance to Mallala denied by South Adelaide.
Former U18 with West Adelaide and South, been playing ressies at the Panthers.
Won a Star Search award last year in the U18 comp. Magpies continuing to build their depth.

He's a cousin of Farrelly and Bruggerman, and is looking for a "home club" to play for if and when he gets dropped from South's ressies. Its unlikley we will see much of him, but if he gets a couple of games in this year I guess he'll be one less point next year if things don't work out for him.

Any club stupid enough to be pushing the limits of the salary cap this season would be dumb - I'm certain the pies aren't in that category. From what we have seen so far in the APFL this season, I doubt any club in this league will get close to the upper limit.

Interesting. :?

I had no idea that his injuries we so significant - if that was actually the case Gus certainly dodged a bullet by getting two weeks.

Interesting programming with Two Wells taking on Angle Vale again before playing Balak's, Hummocks, Hamley or Longies.

I know that the first two rnds are who you play 3 times, but yeah still seems very close together.

Charlie McIntrye has sent out the U15 association invite letters to each club, hopefully AV support it along with Vig, and that Will Hodgetts is running the APFL junior association with Butterfield as Mentor.

Yeah two wells are going to be 2-2 and they would only have beaten angle vale.

I'd think that Angle Vale would be keen to participate in that considering the lack of opportunities in the NEMJFA given the merger between them and the CDJFL.
They'd still have the development squads to try out for but once again there's a lot of kids to canvas for a small amount of positions available.

How are we rating the performance of our umpires this season? Personally I've noticed a marked improvement on recent years - they seem to be in control and not paying quite as many "micky mouse" free kicks - we've had mostly Clarkey and Wattsy.

Brown nose much?

BJ and Clarkey did a great job on the weekend. BJ is the best by a fair distance IMO. Validates his spot at the top. Some of the newbies have a lot to learn. But you expect that to a degree with the new guys.

bj and clarkey are stand outs by far and the only other one that has been satisfactory in my opinion is wattsy. I think the others have a lot to learn.
