We still have 3 pts up our sleeve + we have had 10 colts go up and with skills coaching
From Rocky Roberts and Micheal Aish we have seen good improvement , also with a strong fitness base
We should be right around the mark .

I cant argue with that RD. I am only going an hear say and we all know never let the truth get in the way of a good story.
I would luv to see your A's team sheet ( points allocated) BUT if I walked in with my colours on I am sure I would struggle to leave ;)

A couple of fine footballers in there day. Perhaps they think that they know the rules better than some country hick umpire's

Anyone seen much of hahndorf? Interested on how young lad Nick Hankin is going in the league.

Moved to Hahndorf this season to play with his brother David.

The young lad had a top year down in the riverland last year for Berri, interested to hear how he goes in the Hills

Points are there for all to see this year, there's a tab on the match results online which displays them. It quite interesting going through them all, as you can see Lobethal are not using a single point!

So are Lobethal really struggling as much as saturdays score line suggests? I know the lost a few, but they appear to have slide to the bottom. Or are Blackwood really that good?

Probably not unexpected given Blackwood destroyed TV the previous week and Lobey fell to Onkas by nearly 15 goals.

Taking that into account, I guess it isn't too surprising. Still, it's a big drop from the 2016 Tigers to the 2017 current team. At least from what I hear they are playing a lot of kids which will serve them well in the future. The Blackwood v Hahndorf contest should be intriguing.

Haha, they're not far off from being the bloods. Who is it over at Blackwood that has connections to West Adelaide? During the my time there, there was no affiliation. That was 10 years ago though.

Yes the changing of the zones every 2-3 years never helps!! currently Watchman ,Djiksman ,Catford ,Head, Hopton ,Anderson, Homburg Bricknell, thompson. not sure on Sporn this year ?? that's what I know off, some are returning juniors. Watchman(played at West) and Sporn didn't play last week..... So 8 of the 21 last week are 1-2 years out of Westy's System.

3 undefeated teams and then there is the rest... Some interesting games coming up later with Uraidla, Blackwood and Hahndorf all yet to play one another. At this stage they all appear to be leading the pack.
It is still early days but it would appear Torrens Valley have slipped, Lobey have dropped, and Echunga have improved. Mt Barker still a bit of an unknown, theyve played all of the 3 top teams so far and Onkas are a bit up and down. Mt Lofty appears status quo vs last season.
Hahndorfs win over Torrens Valley was really surprising. I ducked into the game for a while and Torrens Valley just couldnt cope with the pressure of the Maggies - the Maggies were all over them and to be honest Torrens Valley could have lost by a lot more! They were made to look very ordinary (or they are very ordinary!)

That's a massive win for onkas. Keeps them in touch with the 5.

What a round of footy next week though;

Mt Barker v Torrens Valley
Mt Lofty v Lobethal
Hahndorf v Onkas
Uradlia v Blackwood.

Certainly is going to help paint a picture of where clubs are at, very even round.

As I see it and this is only my opinion. Only 3 clubs can win the flag this year. Blackwood and Hahndorf will likely play off in the grand final. Uraidla is a smokey to interrupt this. The 6 other clubs are just making up the numbers. At least 3 of those 6 clubs are way off the mark and will struggle to win many games at all. The gap between top and bottom is as wide as it has ever been for the last 15 years. The 2 big town clubs (Blackwood/Hahndorf) have too much of an advantage given their location and financial status. Mt Barker should be in this field too and they should be disappointed they are not. So unless like Uraidla who have had a constant injection of funds over the years you simply have no chance of success in Div 1. The only slim chance you have is to pump incredible amounts of money into the A grade squad in the faint hope of a flag. It worked for a Echunga (but at what cost) and Torrens Valley got close. One guarantee is that if a club chooses this option it will tear at the fabric and culture of your club. The reality is if you are in Div 1 you will need to pull all tricks out of the bag including massive amounts of money to be a contender with those large scale clubs. Is it really worth it. Personally I don't think so. Perhaps it's time to have a smaller more elite Div 1 competition and a larger Div 2 to allow some of those smaller town clubs the chance to put some silverware in their cabinet. Not sure of the answer but there's got to be a better option.
