that certainly is an impressive list of in's wcp........i know you've lost a couple but would be in positive territory - I would expect Souths and Tasmans to improve - Mallees sound like they might be down a bit and Bostons should improve.........the Demons are the questionmark........5 premiership players gone - plus 2 more if they were fit.........the confirmed "in's" wont cover those losses........

Shaping up for a cracker of a season!

Bostons to trial against UY this Wednesday night under lights in the first official game of football underlights to be sanctioned by the PLFL. Boston Tigers will create history. Anyone got any thoughts on the result? Matching up the form would be difficult being from different leagues?
Any one seen Bluey???The GM backed Lex Luthor, an avid Superman fan he hasn't been sighted since correct weight was declared.
HTM Fremantle are one of the worst teams in the comp, please stick to what you know... which is not much.
How'd you end up yesterday rossco/btb? Official fluctuations for Surreal Dream where $26 into $16, smelt like a famous Rossco plunge to me. Apparently Smally had to go and have a saver on the TAB just incase SD won.
Be interesting to see how the last meeting goes, numbers wise? I see the Clare Easter meet is slight on. I think we will struggle. What was the thoughts on the crowd yeaterday?
rumourmonger I invite you to write up trackside for the last meeting! write it on here and I will copy it, will need it by Noon next Tuesday.... lets see what you are made of. WAP I reckon!
Old Cooper - the Boston Football Club arent hated at all, we wish them well in their recovery and there are a lot of good people there. The U/17 game in Kyancutta would have been good to watch, loads of talent over this way, should be a good crop too.
Still trying to play down the Dees chances and favourites tag rossco... move on your fav @ $1.90.
Waybacks by 10 goals, peckers very scratchy early... always good to get them first game.
MR to have to much allround talent for Tasmans, 5 goal win and Lincoln South by 20.

Sorry for the ignorance, haven't been up to speed.
MR looking OK? Mallees scratchy? And I'd imagine Tasmans will struggle to cover losses of Dodd, Smithy and Stix...?

AG - SD plunge was not me..........only had 20 by 20 on the tote.........ended up in front......had a reasonable day - and the Penrith Panthers got up which made the w/end a very very successful one! Anyway a $5 plunge on SD with smally would have sent him clambering!

Not playing down the chances at all....just looking at the ins versus the outs......and the Rangers look like the big movers.

unfortunately the dream did not materialise for us yesterday, but horse has had 2 runs and should be a nice 3yo. missed the kick but hunted thru to be in a nice posi by the 500m...then had a slight tangle with the running rail and spat the chewy....acted like a tasman fair dinkum..................
watched the last race with a couple of large punters and the 2 on course announcers...all speaking thru their pockets....but were not happy with the axe......will be interesting to hear his account. for mine he may have been a bit late to hook out in the straight and make a run, but when he did the horse didn't look happy about doing it...seemed to lay in long enough to cost it the race..maybe a query over both horse and rider.

honestly don't think any one will really know until the season gets underway, but supposedly Mooney Johncock, Marcus Pickett, Devlin Walsh, Hippy Wanganeen, Wes Bilney, Waylon Johncock, Shannon McNamara are amongst the exodus. Supposedly Jones has called it a day, but will believe that when I see it.

Right, that is a fair exodus. Have they signed up anywhere else 'supposedly'?
Never really know, do you?
Wouldn't leave them with heaps.

Had a 12 a side trial at training last week which was good viewing. Can report the lights are easily good enough for night footy. Will be good to see night matches when similar lights are installed at Centenary. Only new recuits there were Morton, Travis Koch from Rambers B grade and Schuppan. Can confirm new recruit Morton will challenge Haje for the first player to spew on the field this year. Morton slight favourite because we play 5 days earlier. Schuppan didn't show much and has gone home for a few weeks.
Huge oval. The boundary could be quite easily brought in 5- 10 metres the whole way around to make room for car parking between the ovals.

Reports from the trial were varied, but have been able to confirm the following: Boags has started season in fine style and has already progressed to H in the injury alphabet. He is awaiting test back for haemachromotosis before being tested for irritable bowell syndrome, D Moore is still angry, Schuppan had the better of R Lynch in one on one contests, T George is still annoying and the lights are OK but not as good as the new ones at Centenary. (LS Please take note).
Love all the talk about new recruits. From what I can see we will be a big negative this year and hoping for improvement from some of our younger guys...also hoping some of our senior guys can survive un-injured. The signing of Schuppan may be seen as giving us the recruiting 'edge' this year, but he is only one person...a lot of eggs in one basket, no matter how good he is...Rangers have by far been the most active and succesful in this area.
Our fortunes could also rest on the out come of an alleged phone call made by the coach of a certain bayside suburb to a couple of demons which finished with the words "don't care how much, money is no object"...stay tuned

There is nothing worse than when a player turns coach at another club and targets players from his old side. De Pledge did this last year with Tasmans, asking nearly every player. Paul Boxer has not approached any MR's, we respect him for that as he respects us!!

Hey, that's a fair point. But sorry WCP, when a coach comes, players are expected to come with. Sadly, that is some sort of expectation. It's often more 'accepted' though if the coach takes players from a league that doesn't rely on player numbers as much as the EP. For such a relatively small base, EP teams take what they can get, so poaching hurts.
